Mobilemaster, 02 Jan 2014They will pay for the mistake at abandoning 2 OS'es. If the... moreWhat?. WP's UI is, by far, the best thing in the whole OS. Maybe you want another grid full of shortcuts.

I'm still sticking to my Belle N8, and I will for a while in the future. I just don't see any OS that could be this efficient and stable. And there are no better phones for good old Nokia brick. I keep dropping my N8 on the floor, but nothing happens to it. Delivers everything I need and no less capable than other OS. I'm absolutely 100% that symbian would have been better or at least in the level with other OSes, if guys at Nokia would be allowed to develop it further.
Good luck symbian team.

_Why do people not buy Samsung instead of Nokia? Let Nokia die and let's only buy samsung. then we rule over everyone.

Writing this post from my 6710 navigator.
Can't believe that this software has this offline voice commands recognition from that time!
Simply when I ask: "what time is it?"
it replies: "it's 9 46"!
I can say also: "Read my new messages".
The sound quality of that phone is excellent and still beter than some new entry phones .(see the review)
I have voice life time navigation with updated offline maps.
I installed n-gage games on it,
some games reach 75 mb, others have physix (moving hair and clothes) and lighting effects. (like One)
Really it was good to know you Symbian.
And @Windows Phone:
You have alot of work to do .

Nokia should have a generous global trade-in program to buy back symbian devices when you buy a windows phone.

God I miss the days when new phones comes with different shapes and sizes and each phone lasts 2 years before going slightly obsolete. 360 degree charging, FM transmitter, optical zoom in N93, ability to text without looking at keypad, and most of all, the grandest of them all, the pinnacle of sophistication, THE FLIP TO ANSWER CALL.
Now its just boring soulless black slab after black slab

i have just moved to Lumia 925, and i have to say some options in the older Nokias (N8 for me before i switched,) are by far better than the current WP8 options.
we are all waiting for 8.1 as far as i've heard it would be something good and flexible.
Remember that WP8 is still pretty new and created by Microsoft and not Nokia, whereas Symbian a product of Nokia (which explains the nice fit of the OS in Nokia phones) was updated frequently and was a Nokia achievement especially Nokia Belle!
for the time being, WP8 is not that bad at all!! you can see that Lumia phones are fighting against big companies!
it is sad to see Nokia waving goodbye, but i am hoping it is for the best, fingers crossed!

Ok cool, so we still have Asha phones.
Thatz good..
But we would miss N8 and other Nokia's Symbian creations.
Anyways we all have to move on and when 1 door closes another 10 doors open up.
I have a Nokia Asha 302 as alternate phone that's kept in the Glove box of my car for an emergency incase my smartphone battery dies down. Trust me the Asha phone is doing well and has never let me down with regards to making calls and sms, although it should be remembered that there are not much fancy apps and games like in Android and IOS.
But atleast Asha phones and other Symbian give good battery life.
I remember Steve Jobs himself having a Nokia N8 as an alternate phone, that is the trust he had on his iphone.
Cheers!!

Will be my last Nokia phone Nokia N9 and still using it. No more Nokia phone after this. Don't hate Nokia it is the Microsoft Trojan Horse @ Stephen Elop and Microsoft to be blame. I will be using Nokia again if they are using Sailfish OS, Android or IOS ( if they offered to other phone ) If they still using Window OS. Bye bye Nokia. Window not even close to MeeGo.

Asha has nothing to do with Symbian, its inspired from meego, but its not meego nor Symbian, so people really need to grow up and accept Symbian was not intended for touch enable,

Its the end.end for a dominating Mobile Giant..end for a OS which once dominated 70% market of Mobile os...its a law " a thing when throw upward surely comes back to ground one day" ..I will be missing you...and hope one day i would be seeing you fighting back with your own made OS..if a Giant company using some other company os is finished that day only like if apple is using symbian or android or wp is finished..bb is using wp,android, ios is finished..Love you NOKIA ever..forever
