Calms, there it is already to go far too much. Compare Iphone with PS2 and Xbox it is ignorance. I don´t know if you know what requirements for a pc desktop for to can emulate those consoles, for ps2 a Core 2 dual-core at 3.0GHZ with for example a 9600gt for emulate a 100%. For a Xbox a Core 2 quad Yorkefield of the most powerfuls or even a core i7.

For much than Iphone gets never will be superior to the Psp. The PSP works with MIPS instructions, it is a console, with better performance in graphics departemant. Understand this.

Maybe he should take a look at Assasins Creed Altaïr's Chronicles or Need for Speed Undercover to see what the iPhone is capable of, Gameloft/Ubisoft and EA Games don't seem to share the same views.

The PSP it is a console doesn´t works in the same way than the Iphone even that is superior to Iphone. The Iphone to be superior to Psp in cpu it had that to have a cpu of 1GHZ or 1.2GHZ of frequency and the gpu is much superior to the Iphone even the actual Iphone it is inferior to the Dreamcast in contrast than says Carmack of Id Software.
One console like Psp pushed to the limits obtains more performance than any actual Iphone. Only if the new come armed with the TiOmap3 there already it is different.

Anonymous, 15 May 2009Understand you live in US and you use your iphone different... moreLook. The iphone is a modern device to be used in a modern country. I don't think Apple made the iphone so that it would work for the needs of people from places where internet does not even exist.
If news advisory is what you are concerned about. FM is not the only source for that. The iphone can access websites that gives realtime news advisories. So there. I'm sure HK has internet. And typhoons don't just come out of the blue. I'm sure HK has weather forecast as well. You would know that a typhoon is coming up a couple of days before it arrives. You don't have to depend your life on FM, lol.
If your network cannot accommodate huge number of calls at the same time, that is not the iphone's problem. Maybe HK should start using pagers instead if HK does not have the technology yet. Hmmm, I thought HK is a modern country, I guess not.
Radio talk shows? Here in the US we have podcasts where those radio talk shows are posted as well. Does HK have podcasts? I'm really getting the impression now that HK 20 years behind in technology. Sad.
HK does not have podcasts, HK cannot accommodate large mass calling, HK does not have phone internet readily available, HK does not have weather forecasts and only depends on radio, yet HK is big on video calling? HAHAHAHAHA. It does not make sense, lol.

[deleted post]Did you know you can pop the SIM tray and swap the SIM on an iPhone without even turning it off?
I do it all the time, first I divert my main number to my second SIM then just swap them over, the phone doesn't miss a beat, it will even stay connected to the Internet over wifi.

The sell them on Ebay for next to nothing, from shipped from Hong Kong.
They are all over EBay and, as you have to plug headphones into your phone to act as an aerial anyway it makes absolutely no difference.

Radio can report traffic "everywhere else"....some reported by cab drivers (unlike those in US, cabs are EVERYWHERE in HK), as well as police and other sources, including road closures / diversion, or even emergency case on other public transportation (where most people depend on, instead of their own cars....because the gov tax 110% on cars and fuel...so regular Shell gas now costs around US$6.3 per gallon) like railways and buses, which I doubt iphone itself can provide as efficient as radio where I live.

Anonymous, 15 May 2009And also, there are several apps for real time traffic on t... moreUnderstand you live in US and you use your iphone differently, though that doesn't mean other people around the world can't use iphone differently.
Actually I live in HK, and we face typhoons (a bit less than a hurricane) every summer, and in some severe conditions, the Obervatory (weather service) would announce people should get off work and head home ASAP. (sorry, I only lived in CA and we never had such "system"....I still went to school with very heavy shower and thunderstorm.)
The city holds 7 million population and over 10 million registered phone users, do you think any phone network can handle all the friends and families to call each other at the same time to get off work?
In recent years where cell phones (and monthly fee, which BTW, we pay as little as US$4.5 per month for over 500mins of 2G service...of course geographically HK is a much smaller place) have become more affordable, the problem of jamming all the phone lines during the situation mentioned above has became worse, when everybody tries to call in and inform each other at the same time.
One maybe lucky to get a line in 20mins. SMS? Once I got one that was 7 hours late.
Also, my wife and I always enjoy some radio talk shows, which are some of the funniest in town. Yes, they're available online as well. Though would you suggest my wife to stand at a place with wifi? Or use mobile data (which only covers 500mb each month on the iphone plan) to listen to radio? How about the battery power? Would constant data downloading consumes less power than a radio?
I don't hate iphone, simply because my wife loves it! (At least she would never use any almighty brand's phone due to my influence) I just thought some simple things like a radio and video call capability would make the already good iphone practically perfect for my family's needs.
