This is because Sony doesnt have any mid-range phones when looking at prices. Either is low budget or high end. No middle ground imo.
Looking at the budget range, other brands are better for the same price.

ooooh....Sony mid range phones are not so good... There's some battery problems..User can't remove the battery... But sony Z2,3 are very good.. Spcly Z3.. It will be a successful phone in the market...

This is very sad. They make some quality handsets. One thing I see backfiring their strategy is launching a new flagship every 6 months. This makes some customers always waiting for the latest one & makes recent buyers feel cheated.

I would like to see a Sony handset with a more vanilla android experience and different design.
These are probably the only 2 things keeping be from throwing money at Sony.
And possibly more Android updates.
Sony phones are great, especially the water proofing, but they look boring. I like that they are now starting to use thinner bezels on the Z3 lineup. Maybe next year they might turn a profit.
There's too many Xperia variants, M, E, L, XL blah. Keep it simple Sony! Don't be a Samsung!

I hate to see Sony loosing
Money. In fact I hate hearing any company loosing Money. They are all companies that try to make the world a better and easier place to live. I use many Sony produts. Not the phone. Keep it up Sony.

I dun think much of everything up to Z2 but Z3 seems nice in design but i just wonder if their camera department can make it this time round.

Tell me which samsung or Htc phones have 4.4.4. I can tell you every single phone released by Sony this year has at least 4.4.2. Also Xperia Z(18 months old device), Z1, Z Ultra, Z1 compact all have 4.4.4.

Whether you like Sony or not, a company struggling is NEVER good news, it ultimately means less competition and less choice for the consumer - so it is YOU who lose out, having fewer and fewer handsets to choose from.
Every time I've seen someone with a Z2 I've come away impressed, they're monolothic in appearance, really eye-catching and incredibly premium devices...
They just need to market, start excelling in mid to low range phones, and yes, remove the bezels and slightly reduce the unnecessary bulky size of their phones (and maybe improve their camera a bit) - but they're getting there with remote PS4 play, etc.
Let's not be too happy to dance on their grave just yet, otherwise we're left at the mercy of some of the other, less capable companies to make our handsets...

its all because sony 2014 midrange phones are really bad! they are all have snapdragon 400! a low-mid chipset, it is even weaker than previous year xperia sp, no one will upgrade to a newer phone with weaker config! sorry sony but you really messed up

Who is crazy to buy Sony phones? They are more expansive, more weaker in hardware, never or almost never updated, crap screen quality and goes on.
