Top 10 trending phones of week 37

Chip, 16 September 2018

This week Apple introduced its 2018 iPhone lineup and they immediately took over our popularity chart. The new trio shot straight to the top, occupying the entire podium. The iPhone XS Max ended up the most popular family member, followed by the XS and finally the XR.

The long-standing leader Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has to settle for a very distant fourth, ahead of the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite and the vivo V11.

Galaxy Note9 is the best placed among the Samsung smartphones, taking seventh, ahead of the last week's runner-up - the Oppo F9.

In ninth we find the now discontinued Apple iPhone X, which saw its interest spike due to comparisons with the new lineup. This means we have a total of 4 Apple smartphones among the top 10 in our database, which is a record for the company.

The final available spot goes to Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, which means the Xiaomi Mi A2, Oppo Realme 2, Samsung Galaxy J6 and Nokia 6.1 Plus were all relegated.

I think you confused a few things here

Trending phones don't mean that they're good phones. Number of fans and bashers visiting the site were counted in totality making them popular. As the saying goes good or bad publicity is still publicity.
