No doubts this phone is good but for those who are abusing other high end sets that they dont use 50% of their function and get bored in couple of weeks to them that they are living on earth there are cars starts from 2500$ and also cost 25000$ there are watches there are so many different thinks with same basic fuction watch shows you time weather if it is of 25$ or of 25000$ its your choice, interest and offcourse yours pocket. This phone is good no doubt but dont post bad comments on phones which you dont like, nokia 1112 is only your choice not others

What a stupidity I read here:
A basic phone is for calling and mms?
To normal people a basic phone should not have mms and neither a speaker phone, but instead must have a bluetooth!!!, and loud ringers!!!!! And there is not way a phone that is 18 mm thick will have loud ringers!!!

The Nokia 1112 has a speakerphone, which should end that discussion. =)
Interestingly, the 1112 is the 3rd most popular phone in Sweden right now. I'm not surprised.

you would think that phones as simple as these would also come with a simple feature.........SPEAKERPHONE! it shouldn't be that hard to put in...

i dont understand why people comment on minus great features with budget phones. these phones are meant to be basic phones and can do good with calls and sms function. moreover there is no point in giving a colour screen when there is no camera and mms function and the negative point is that the colour phones drainout battery power and their screens are unreadble under the bright sun wherein you need to creat a shade with your other palm to look who is calling. i found the only error with nokias are the dust accumulation on the inside screen. i dont know what those stupid engineers at nokia doing. this is a terrible problem with almost all the nokia models. one needs to remove the body cover to clean atleast once a week. nokia has blindly overlooked and still producing new models with the same old repeated problem.
HEY.....NOKIA WHAT THE HELL ARE YOUR ENGINEERS DOING IN THE R & D? I THINK THEY MUST BE ALL TIME.....zzzzzzzzzz'.

SunPT: Glad I could help!
I have now got myself the Nokia 1112, and it is just as good as I hoped it would be! Simple, functional and generally working very good. I hope it lasts for a long time, I would be really disappointed if it would crash after a few months. It is exactly what I needed, the perfect everyday phone...
However, i was surprised by the amount of additional features Nokia had added. I expected this phone to be something like the old 3410, but there is a talking clock, better settings, better menu system and a the handy profiles management from newer Series 40 phones.
So, final opinion from me: If it stays alive for atleast a full year (hopefully longer) I would call it the ultimate phone for someone who just wants to call and send SMSs. If you need more features (camera, MP3-player, calendar, GPRS/3G etc.) you should look for something else. But if you prefer to take photos with your digital camera, listen to music on your iPod and do your calendar management on Google Calendar while you surf the web from your regular laptop, this may be a perfect phone for you. It is, for me.

Hi every one. This a very good entry level phone but it has a problem that You cannot use SIM and Phone memory at the same time for contacts so if you have contacts stored in phone and SIM, you have to switch between memory types from contacts menu. Bad thing in this phone :(

Andreas,
I've got a D600 and it's the best phone I've ever used :) The only thing is that it was expensive and it's too flashy, so I'm afraid to take it when I go out clubbing or even jogging after sunset. I think I'll get this 1112 as a 2nd phone. Thanks for your comment, it really helped. :)

There's no calendar functions over this model, but you can put some simple reminders at "Reminders" section.

I want this phone, badly! Not because it is good, but because it has the only features I have ever used in mobile phones - at the best price.
Currently, I own a Samsung D600, and while it is cool and flashy and a good gadget overall it costs a whole lot of money and it is wasted value to me. I don't take photos with it, since I use my digital camera for that. I also don't listen to MP3s since my iPod plays my music. All surfing, e-mailing and calendar/addressbook stuff (and playing games as well) is handled with my laptop.
My mobile phone is used only to call people, and recieve calls from others. And Nokia 1112 is a phone that uses technology that has worked well for just that - for more than five years now. As long as the technical quality is what I expect, this should be the perfect phone for me.
So why do I like it so much? Simply because the price is right! That's the Ultimate Selling Point. This phone is worth its price, with ease. If it is what you need, of course. I'm going to pick one up when the next paycheck arrives. In fact, I'll probably pick up two phones and give one to my father (who doesn't like advanced and hard-to-learn technicalities).
And I used to say I would never again buy a Nokia after the huge amounts of problems I had with the 6630 a few years ago... =D

Alot of people asking the similar questions of putting mp3 or polyphonics songs into this phone. The answer is "NO". There's no cable, no infrared and bluetooth features n final - also no GPRS! No where u can communicate for data purposes on this phone!
Alot of people asked about the 4MB memory. It's great for messaging and phone contacts only, that'a all. Nokia is very stingy with phone memory, look at 6101, only 4.3MB memory for a camera and with recording cabability phone. For this model, a 600KB is actually enough but things just turn around instead.
