I just bought this phone 2 hours ago at Best Buy for 20$. Price cannot be beat! Replaces a phone I dropped too many times. Very simple phone. No WAP, no camera, no fooling. Does text and calling and does them well; is all I want. If you mess with the color scheme long enough, you can get rid of the "rolling color" annoyance and make it quite readable. And as for the "Last Text doesn't clear from the screen" annoyance, try *holding* down the clear key, it erases all. As for not being able to skim the contact list, try hitting the scroll down as soon as you get the first screen after turning it on. The interface is actually quite reasonable, you just have to play with it a bit.

have this phone for only 500php that is buy & sell,LOL,its very usefull for everyday life even at night...hehehe..try this one..its great...

i currently have this phone as a replacement because i broke my other phone (a nokia 5300)
its an exceptionally good phone. it satisfies my basic needs (texting and making/recieveing calls) battery life is amazing. i used this phone for two days without charging it. the thing about a recently sent text message still being on the screen is annoying but comes in handy. there are plenty of times where i pressed the wrong button and the message was canceled but all i had to do was press that left button and there it was so i could finish typing it. one of the things that i do find to be annoying is that you cant just scim through the phonebook. you have to search for the person's number and that can be a pain. the message sending can be waay better. i have to actually watch the phone to make sure it actually sends the messgae and i end up restarting it like every 2 hours. thats anohter downside. the flash light really comes in handy for things like reading in the dark. its a good second phone to have.

hi,
just bought this phone an hour ago,
nice phone.
advantages
nokia
durable
very handy
has a flash light
cheap
and good as a second phone.
very good network reception.
nice voice recep
some dis advs..
no wap
no way for downloading wallpapers,ringers etc
boring interface.
very simple design.
no radio
after buying i found that the speaker sound is low. even its set on level 5. the sereen is small as compared to other cheap Motorola phones.the keypad colour peels of aft one year or so (that depnds n ur usage)
i use thise as a second fone
bought this fone only bec its very durable and cheap..
now its up to you to decide what to buy.

A good reliable sturdy phone. I've had it for 4 months now. Dropped it several of times and still lived. Battery life is respectable, sometimes I have to charge it every two days (can be annoying). The thing I don't like about it is text messaging. It is very unreliable. It sometimes sends the message, sometimes it doesn't. So every time I suspect someone did not receive my text message, I send one to myself. If I don't receive it I have to restart my phone at least 10 times a day. It's awful! Keypad wears out quite easily as it's rubber.

This is a simple very convenient and phone with high utility value. It may not boast of many advanced features but a great instrument for the price. I have been using for a year very extensively maybe around 1000 hours in a single year and still its going strong.I salute the Nokia R&d for giving us such a great piece

And another thing . . . contrary to the experience of some others here, my 1208's battery lfe has been exceptional. Easily three days on standby. I can talk for hours and have a full battery indicator

After six months of daily use, I love this small, simple, reliable, no frills phone.
I just want to send and receive calls, listen to voicemails, and occasionally send and receive texts. I personally don't need any other bells and whistles.
Four small peeves:
1. Doesn't appear to have any-key answer. Nice to have when the phone rings at 60 mph and you don't want to take your eyes off the road. A moderate annoyance.
2. Text doesn't clear from the screen once you've sent an SMS. Next time you want to send a message, the old message text is still there. A minor annoyance.
3. Can't find any way to load ringtones. A very minor annoyance.
4. Documentation sucks. A minor annoyance since operation is simple and straightforward.
And, like every Nokia I've ever owned, tough as nails. I dropped it face down in a puddle of water for about 20 seconds. Took it apart, let it dry for a few days, worked perfectly.

I don't think it's bad, except it doesn't have blue tooth which means that it's harder for some people. Also, it has flash light, it comes in handy sometimes, trust me. The battery lasts long, and you could talk up to 7 hours! The features aren't that many, but some are good like the converter can be used, also the calculator. For a $20.00 phone you could buy for prepaid in Best Buy, it isn't that bad try it!

I have just purchased a nokia 1208 but I cannot get it to ring out on receiving calls - it will only vibrate or if I turn off vibrate it will only flash -help please??

why do i always have to CLEAR TEXT after writing and sending one? everytime i send a txt to someone and go back to create a new msg, the previous msg is there and i have to first clear it before i can write another. is there anyway i can change it to normal mode/clear screen?
