    For mp4, exact settings are required. I had converted quite a few files earlier, so I will try to remeber the settings if I can.

        @gondar,
        check your settings
        press menu>settings>connectivity>packet data>edit active access point

        then edit
        alias for access point and packet data access point

        it is also better to consult your network provider.
        if you're in the philippines, using smart

        alias for access point - SmartInternet
        packet data access point - internet

          @wahid,

          any mini-usb cable will do. even those of digital cameras' will do. i am using a generic mini-usb cable i bought for only PHP80 or about USD2 and it works perfect.

          if you really wanted the original accesory go to the nearest nokia center or accredited shops. they can help you.

              Hello, could anyone please tell me the right cable model number to connect my 3110 classic to my PC? I collected one 'compatible cable' but it seems not recognised by NOKIA PC Suite.
              Any help is welcome, thanks

                      @nik

                      i haven't seen an antivirus for a nokia series 40 phone yet. you are vulnerable to viruses if you use your bluetooth a lot specially with a symbian os phone (nokia n-series, se p9 series, etc) which are mostly affected by virus, most known virus to hit is caribe virus in the philippines.

                        @nik,

                        maybe there is something wrong with your phone. can you clarify "connecting to the internet"? you can directly connect to the internet in your phone through wap via gprs/edge.

                        i am using my phone to connect to the internet on my desktop using it as modem through the use of mini usb cable (not included in the package). you can also use bluetooth and ir to connect but having it wired is the best option.

                        to connect in to the internet on your desktop/laptop, if your on windows, install the pc suite. also make sure that all settings for internet/data packets were all set to your network provider. if you're on linux, specifically ubuntu, i can teach you how. just quote me.

                            @waj

                            hi waj i am a newbie in linux but i am full time ubuntu 7.04 user. i will try to answer your questions the i could.

                            item 1. does it support usb drive?
                            answer item 1. yes. ubuntu supports usb flash drives. usb devices works like magic in ubuntu. i don't know why does your usb flash drive can't be detected maybe you disable it on the settings. nokia 3110c works and i am using it to connect to the internet.

                            item 2. does it support .exe?
                            answer item 2. .exe or executable files are mainly windows files. in some point you can run it using a program called wine but sometimes it does not work. wine is a free program. you can also use win4lin and vmware are emulators so that you can still run windows and rin windows programs. you can also use cedega (proprietary) can be used in playing games.

                            item 3. problems in ubuntu?
                            answer item 3. nothing much. i think the only problem are the availability of games which you can play.

                            item 4. advantages in ubuntu?
                            answer item 4. the greatest advantage of ubuntu is it is free. ubuntu is also the most popular linux distribution. updates are always available and a new release every six months. there is also a strong community that can help you solve your problem.

                            check www.ubuntu.com and www.ubuntuforums.org

                            make that switch now. = )

                            i hope i helped you.

                                The best microSD to use for this phone is Nokia 2GB microSD. It works smoothly, since it is Nokia's official microSD

                                      wud i be able to access the internet on my laptop using the 3110c?

                                      answer: yes. you can use it as a modem. just see to it that you have all the settings including in the connectivity > packet data settings and a connectivity means (cable, ir or bluetooth. i recommend using cable). by the way, what is your os? if you're on windows xp (don't know if there is already available in vista, just check it on their site) just install nokia pc suite which is downloadable in their site and you can now connect to the internet. if you're on linux just quote me and i will teach you how. i am running on linux ubuntu 7.04 (switching to 7.10 this month after final release) and i am using my nokia 3110c as my modem running on edge.
