I was bought this phone as my first mobile, over 5years ago when it first came out in UK. It cost 20 quid all ready to go!! Its an excellent phone. I was given another phone last year Nokia 6600, but after a few months gave it back because its a shocker of a phone - heavy, fugly, too many functions and a very uneasy to follow pad and menu. I love my 3310, and I have also dropped it many times and even when it broke into many pieces, I just put it back together again and its still sweet!.
I have been considering getting an IPOD and thought maybe I should update my phone and get an mp3 that way. I have been considering the samsung ZV10 and Motorola V360, anyone got any advise - I`d hate to pay out and then miss my old 3310 clean simplicity and reliability. Perhaps I should just get an IPOD and keep my phone? SUGGESTONS PLS!!

Legendary Phone. I remember that at one time almost everyone had it. It was very simple to use and yet it had everything that someone could ask from a mobile phone back then ( mp3 players, phone cameras, color screens etc were still science fiction ).
Also it had good reception and very strong loudspeaker. The strongest i can think of in fact. When it rang it was very easily heard.

sublime phone
History, legend, call it how you want. Way, way ahead of its time and way, way ahead of our time, when simplicity is the word of order. we claim to seek for simplicity, but we forget good old 3310
bring it back
NOKIA, bring it back, don't kill a myth!!!
bust the market again, re-launch 3310, for our souls!!
3310 for ever

it is my first handyphone but i can say that it is very wonderful.you can do and drop thousand times but it is ok. when the other mobile can not call if they are too far from center then 3310 is the best choice. i want to change the battery because you need to recharge again and again.besides that, no mobile can compete with it. bravo 3310, viva 3310( i am from vietnam)

Did some crash tests with nokia 3310 just to prove what other said. I got on the beach to have more space for "testing". I throw the 3310 as far as I could, and after about 30m flight it hit the sand making a small dust cloud. No damage taken, it didn't even turn of or drop it's signal. At my home I put the phone into a experimentally generated strong EM field (it crashes most phones) but still altrought for the moment signal died, after getting the phone out it was still ok. I have overpowered the DC charging jack with 19.3 V first DC then AC voltage. Yet again, no permanent problems. Dropping on solid surfaces in daily life it's child play for this phone. I dropped it from about 11m and altrought the phone body broke it was still operable. Now i fell sorry for the phone, you can't find anything that compares to it in terms of resistance. My frends working at a phone service shop told me that 3310 and 6310 are the most resistant phones. Imagine all of this crash tests done on a n70 for example..

The Nokia 3310 was a pinnacle in the Mobile Phone Industry.. The 3310 was the most user friendly man made creation to this date.. No Joke.. My mom had one.. And she sure didnt read any instruction manual. Then My dad bought one for him self too.. Didnt stop there, bought one for my sister too.. well as for me.. I opted for the 5110, because lets face it.. the 3310 was and still is the world's most famous mobile fone.. Didnt have a single problem with it.. No software issues, and damn Hardy too.. Wouldnt be surprised if it stopped a bullet. I agree with one of the posts about Nokia having a Fone which can be used by Older people.. I gave my mom, my Old 7650.. Boy did she have her hand full.. Hehe.. Anyways.. Im now using a Nokia N70 here in Australia.. Alot of Problems with Software.. Kept on gettin stuck and restarting when I had personalised ringtones and everything on, but yet the hardware is good.. meaning.. Camera quality and sound is alrite for listening to music whilst in the bath! Cheers Everyone! Oh and as for the Old 3310's, 5 years on, and they are still in active duty back in my home country, Sri Lanka..

This is the phone of my life!!!!!!!!!!! I can´t even think about the days when my dear 3310 is completely broken. Then I have to buy one of these new camera-radio-mms-e-mail-flashing-light-game-digital-bluetooth -superphones which allmost makes you a dinner if you tell them to do it. 3310 contains Ecxellent simplicity and nostalgy and every time I hear it´s polyphonic ringtone it almost makes me cry. PEOPLE, why don´t you understand. The world is based on simplicity.
