I was about to buy this phone today after having a shocking expereince with HTC Legend.(returned it after 2 days use)
None of the Android and even Windows Phone( correct me if I have wrong impression) can be connected to your lap top for sending n receving SMS messages while Most of Nokia Phone , it is child's play.( Upper range) I need this function to be able to copy sms msgs n keep a record besides sending 'SMS content' to 3rd party by EMAIL.I shall be obliged if any one can guide me to a Model any brand phone whihc hasd cable conected to Laptop for sending SMS from my Laptop.

If u still want to update
1. connect to PC .. and press refresh OVI software update screen, It will be shown(sometimes updates are not shown , don't know why )

2-its 3G speed is very poor and always shows connection failed while other phone runs excellent from same card at same place.
3-have no 3d accelerator so you can play only very siple game. even angry bird doesnt work.
4-touch is poor as compared to samsung mobile it is compaable to resistive touch of other mobile.
5-battery remains for 5 hours only if you use it simply and 8 hours stand by.very poor battery performance.
6-very big sized mobile with small screen. looks very dirty compare to other same priced mobile
in short this mobile is very poor in this range. it should has price not more than 6k.i am using this mobile since 15 octobar 2011.and find highly unstisfactory myself. my persanal advise is to go for android mobile. nokia's all OS are very ugaly. even more than chinese mobile.

Hi there,every experienced user suggest to update sw to avoid restarting prbm,pls tell me how to do this,bcs phone updater shows no updates,connecting pc+ovi suit do not help as well,the same answer no updates,what can i do???? I like this phone,just want to use it and have fun,i believe with belle update it will work great.

I have purchased Nokia 500, but it shows Its processor 192 MHz through Xplore.
And It restarts automatically when operating.

Hai guys,plz share me ur views about this phone...1.does the touchscreen of nokia 500 able to compete with other capacitive touch phones?
2.wat is it average browising speed using 2G networks?
3.does it has an excellent buffering speed(using youtube,streaming etc...)?
4.will it supports all file formats & games?
5.does it provides good image features as of 5mp?
6.is it possible to update the software version for it?
7.does it have good vedio clarity as per it resolution?
