update your phone to the latest firmware(if you dont knw how to, then ask your dealer to do it for you)...this shd solve most of your freez and hang problem.
Dont know why but its taking nokia long time to fix the hang and restart problem in 5220...they solved it with the very first firmware update on 5130.
abt videos not playing...
only two types of file formats will work, ie mp4 and 3gp...so make sure that the files you upload are in this format..else you will have to convert them using a video converter...
choose mp4 format for conversion...
also resolution shd be 320X240 or less...
preferable video codec is xvid and video bitrate around 250-300kbps...
Its like you said you can change the font color of date and time and that of service provider....for changing font color of time you will have to change theme or edit a current theme in S40 theme creator or carbide UI...
Your phn can also become slow if the memory card is too fragmented...defragment MMC or copy all file to pc, format card and then copy them back.

Certainly the main difference is the audio quality of 5130 and the looks of 5220...
If you do like the looks of 5220 then go ahead and buy 5220...BTW 5130 doesn't look too bad compared to 5220 but yes the extra thinkness does make it look bulky compared to 5220.
The earsets of both phones sucks...If you are on a budget of around 7K...you have two options
1) buy 5220
2) buy 5130 + 4Gb MMC + good quality earphones(philips SHH9700 or creative EP-630).
I went for 2nd option coz i like my music.

Some say that the 5220 freezes sometimes for no apparent reason, and that the ear-piece has problems too.
Is the 5130 a better buy? If anyone who has a 5220 reads this, please let me know of any problems you are experiencing. I don't need to know it's advantages, I read them already :o)

I like t... morei got a 5220 and i never had any problems.my firmware is 6.51 which is latest.both 5220 and 5130 are same.but sound quality of 5130 is better.5220 is equal to 5310 in sound quality.among the three handsets(5220,5310,5130) 5130 has the best sound quality(see the review of 5130-audio quality).but if u already have 5220 or 5310 there is no need to change to 5130 as all other features of this 3 fones are same.5130 is more cheaper but its thicker than 5220(14mm to 10mm)

I only want to know if I am the only one with this problems...
I got my Xpressmusic 4 months ago and it:
- switches of by itself
- most music videos won't upload
- freezes (I took out my memory card to see if it that is the problem, but it still happened)
Can I please get a way to fix this.
I have read through some posts and I have tried some suggested things like moving files into MMC
Still the same problem.
And when I wanted to take my phone in, then worker there said everyone is coming in with that problem?
So should I just buy a new phone?
And just something else I want to know, the time and service provider that is shown on the wallpaper, how can I change that color? I saw I can change the color of the month, but nothing else?
Other than that, I like the phone, it's small and it has good sound and good quality.

Just bought one and it is relly nice but what is the cause when my phone always shows 'sim car registration failed' even witha nother sim.. and it also goes off service after that.

i was calculating with calculator and a incoming call came and after i ended d call ,the phone display if i wanted to cancell d progam and i click no and the phone hanged ,i then decide to swithoff d phone and after somtime i wswitched on the phone to discover that the space for calculator was no more on the phone till date.
i dont know how i can get the calculator restored because i have restored it by going to resoter to factory settings and it didnt.
