hi emir and farhan,
i m taking touchscreen phone for the first time. i can afford up to Rs.10000 for this. i m confused between nokia 5230, 5233 and samsung mobiles like star-wifi, 3g and corby variants. will u pls guide me which is better choice as i dont change mobiles frequently. my current mobile i m using for 2 years. My priorities are good call functions (like good audibility & call recording), decent touchscreen and messaging functions, photocall, decent camera ( not 2 much as i hav digicam ), decent music and most important its durability in terms of battery and built ( should not break down easily). pls guide me. even if u suggest some other phone though little bit higher price range i will think. thanx.

Recently Nokia announced that they are providing free voice guided navigation. Previously this was a paid service and no other company provides anything even close to this.
Free maps were there from Nokia all along, but now you can get free voice navigation. You can get them from Nokia's official site.

what's meaning of "" with A-GPS su... moreA-GPS stands for assisted GPS. It is called assisted GPS because it assist the GPS function on your phone. It merely assists. It is not a necessity.
Now you might ask : How does it assists?
Answer : GPS is a positioning system which tells you your location on Earth in terms of co-ordinates. I don't want to get in details and make this difficult to follow, so just know that when you turn-on the GPS function where ever on this planet, the GPS software with the help of the in-built antenna wakes up and tries to look around to find where it is.
This is done by communicating with over head satellites (now lets not get into details about satellites). This communication with satellites is done by exchanging data. Yes! your phone is capable of communicating directly with a satellite without the help of any tower.
This data transfer is started by downloading (i.e. your phone downloads) orbital data of satellites.
Get it, downloading of data that is on the satellite.
This data also can be downloaded from the web as its nothing hidden. Since downloading data from web can be faster through GPRS/3G than from the satellite, A-GPS exploits this part of GPS satellite locking. Thus giving you a faster GPS lock.
Point to note is that you can get this data without the help of GPRS/3G (not from the web) but directly from the satellites but that takes more time because of various issues like poor signal conditions, signals bounce confusingly off buildings, or be weakened by passing through walls or tree cover etc.

I had answered this question before and also your other question about office documents. Nonetheless you can get pdf/word/excel/ppt reader and editor for Symbian. You can either buy it from Nokia through Ovi stores or get it free from the internet.

Hi guys i bought this cel recently overall this is a good choice in 9k, but this model can't read word or pdf file.I purchase this cel becoz i heard thr is a software to read pdf or word files.
So guys if any 1 having pdf or word reader for Nokia 5230. plzzzzzzzzz post ur comment for that.

I went to 4 showrooms(univercell, poorvika, vasavi, wavetel) in chennai and all the four didn't have this fone. When asked for the reason one of the showroom dealer said that this phone is not in supply due to s/w problem and battery backup.
Anyways without losing hope went to another showroom and bought the phone. But now I find the phone is slower and it hangs when we play games(rollercoaster revolution).
Is anyone else facing the same problem? Now I feel I did a mistake by buying this phone :(

Can anyone plz tel me in detail abt d sound quality of d device. My friend has a nokia 5800 n i want to knw whether 5230 sound quality is upto d mark. plz tel me guys.

That should be enought!
