Hello People,
When asked for Nokia 5230 The Mobie store guy first said about 5233 and then he recommended me Samsung S5230 W for 8200/- (with WiFi) and he said that phone has a good track record n all. I checked out the phone on GSM Arena n it looks COOL but the thing is I am not really too much of a Samsung Guy & a bit skeptical about thr technology. Till date only the Samsung Satron Monitor has worked for me for nearly 11 Years now.
So what do guys think about the comparison between Nokia 5230 & Samsung S5230 W.
Please HELP.

The iNfO is Correct this version really doesnt consist of a WLAN (WiFi) the biggest minus in this phone but it does consist of 3G & GPS specialy now tht Ovi Maps voice navigation is FREE and this phone is included to get the free service. Moreover you cant expect every technology at this price point.

Hey Guys,
Arey Yaar I am planning to buy this phone but the issue is that its still not available in my favorite Nokia Departmental Store and even Mobile Store Network. The guys there are saying that Nokia 5233 is available which is an Identical Twin of 5230 minus 3G & GPS. Today the mobile store guy told me that 5233 is actally 5235 (the music version) but in India Nokia is selling it as 5233 because it doesnt have a GPS when compared to Nokia 5235 Specifications and thats the reason why theres no info available for 5233 anywhere including gsm arena & nokia india website.
Please tell me a bit more about the 5230's TouchScreen --- I mean is it PLASTICCY or some plastic kind off stuff stuck over it. Please HELP.
Also Please tell me where else can I buy a Nokia 5230 in Bombay --- A reliable store I mean.

Gagan1491, 24 Jan 2010How is the touch senstivity as compared to iphone.......????The touch sensor of iPhone / iPod touch is something very remarkable.
They have feather touch as compared to Nokia one needs to punch in a bit (You also get a vibration feedback on the finger).
However, I feel that its quite normal for Nokia phones to have such sensors as the build is tougher than iPhone / iPod.
If you want a phone, Nokia is better. But if you like other features like Music, better apps, faster wifi -iPhone is a superior choice.

I have purchased NOKIA 5233, yes 5233, at Kolkata today for Rs.7200.00 only. There is no information in Nokia India site. Dont know why? It has all the similar features except 3G. Identical twin of 5230.

hmmm...i'm planning to buy this to replace my good 'ol Nokia 3500C. she's downright reliable but just plain outdated now. anyway, after reading the review.. i'm willing to buy this badboy. i really was waiting for an affordable touchscreen phone from Nokia...and well, here it is. and since music playback is one of my top priorities when it comes to phones (one that is being fulfilled right now by the 3500C admirably), this phone should do nicely. :)
and as for my 3500C? gonna give it to my brother as a gift for his entry in college :D
PS: SCREW ALL THOSE WHO ARE UNDERESTIMATING THIS PHONE.

how is the sounds ouput in Nokia 5230, I heard its... moreI have been using my Sony headphones with my Nokia 5230 for the bass effect. i recommend it to users to use headphones from sehenessier or sony to make get the best music with the phone.
Also Free Ovi maps is too good...iam loving it..
I have Installed few applications and absolutely loving my handset.

I talked to the store manager and got it exchanged to 5230.so now everything is cool. so dont buy 5233..

Before buying confirm the complete spec list : 3G, GPS etc. And to people who say this phone is available for less than 7800, it is probably without VAT ie without warranty or is a sister model without 3G or GPS or both.
Please confirm features and specs of the model before you purchase it.
Also be careful about possible China duplicate sold by various unofficial vendor.
And always look for original Nokia warranty card.
