[deleted post]Ha ha... What happened mate..can't seem to ingest the fact that this phone has all the hardware basics similar to the X6 at less than half the price na?
Both share the smae symbian platform and all the apps that work on X6 except for some exclusive ones will work equally as well on my 5233.
Tell me one good application that doesn't work on 5233 but works on X6?

I'm using h a c k e d firmware on my 5233. So I had no trouble installing it on my phone... Try signing the application with free signer software for sumbian.

So far, no troubles with the touch panel. Don't know for sure if it will last for 3-4 years. Depends on how you use it. But this sure is a phone that can take a beating. I don't even use a protective pouch for my mobile and though the touch screen may look delicate, it can withstand a lot of rough usage.
This pone supports a lot of apps both SIS and Java. It even supports apps made for S60v3 phones.

[deleted post]I use smart movie for AVI files. But video is rather choppy with dropped frame rats. i see that is is better to transcode the videos to .mp4 format and still maintain the high quality than to have a barely watchable AVI video.
Haven't tried core player yet... For evrything related to apps, just try mobile9.com

But compared to other phones in the same price range, this phone delivers one of the best EDGE speeds. I get upto 25kBps or 200kbps during night time and less congested hours using Airtel unlimited GPRS.
With this kind of speeds, i can easily stream live tv and internet radio without any interruptuions.

5233 is a quality product from nokia..quality battery,cost,user friendly,attractive, high quality camera with exclusive video performance..Why waste money for 5800, when almost everythng is available in it..xcpt sound quality in ear piece..for that one can use 5800's ear piece..else it's perfect with cool net speed..plays youtube videos without buffering..
What else is required..

In all other respects, 5233 wins hands down over corby. Since you seem to be a heavy texter like me, you'll really appreciate 5233 as it has full qwerty landscape keyboard something which is lacking in corby. it's really a breeze texting using the onscreen qwerty. And not to mention, the display is really huge and the resolution is almost twice that of the corby. So all in all, this phone is a better in the multimedia department as well.
And since this is a symbian smartphone, you can install thousands of both free as well as paid quality apps. i'm using it for morethan 5 months and so far, this phone hasn't let me down once... I'm 100% satisfied with it. For the price you pay, I don't think you can get anything better...
