Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970So far no problem encountred with nokia units here in the philippines as long you buy it from the authorized dealer. Nokia is better than sony-ericson based on our experience. We both used the nokia and sony-ericson as means of our communication for our project and we found out all of our sony-ericson units cannot last for one day with its battery performance. Please note, we are heavy users of phone.

MY n85 and ex n95/n958gb all had a voice synthesiser in where you held right softkey and said bluetooth for eg and it would repeat back bluetooth and activate..Does the 5800 have this synthesiser built in,,plus my n85 has text to speech so does 5800 have this..Thanx cause i am thinking of getting it today..brynn

This phone is actually nothing interesting and new. I'd call it a "low-end touchscreen" phone, cause that's what it is. It does have more than respectable price tag, and it's definitely not worth it. And now I'll try to explain such a negative opinion:
1. This phone has nothing that the even the first iPhone that came out in 2007 doesn't have, it lacks innovation and FUN-features.
2. Music experience is not that good. OK, the quality is OK, but navigating through the music menus feels a little bit slow and "heavy".
3. Browsing through menus is quite confusing: up until the 3rd sub-level, you need to tap only once to open selected thing. But, then you suddenly have to tap twice to open selected thing, and tapping once only selects it.
4. The "REAL" GPS functionality (turn-by-turn and voice navigation) is not available without additional (expensive) purchases.
5. Accelerometer functionality is also quite stupid and confusing: it actually works only in some menus and applications, and in some applications it actually rotates automatically, whether you rotate the phone itself or not...
6. And finally, it doesn't look nearly as impressive as the iPhone: it is much narrower, and the screen is much less spacious than the iPhone's...

This nokia 5800xm is 369Mhz, but it's very powerful compare to other 630Mhz CPU's, in rendering video graphics, multitask operating system simultaneously, handling video-recording at high-quality 640x480 or WVGA 640x360 at 30.fps 16.8m colors, that WinMobile CPU is up to 630Mhz and it can not do more than QWGA 320x240 size at 12 or 20.fps recording videos, and iphone scum can't handle at all video-recording, it will be very choppy if it did, that's why they was not interested at all to implement this video-recording isue!
With this nokia 5800xm, you can emulate and run windows or old lovely Amiga500 that powerful device it is, and you can play it's games sometime they was so popular and funny to play!
