Anonymous, 22 Feb 2009If you can back up your claim (that 5800 is better than Iph... morei do have an iphone. i barely use it. all the iphone is one fast connection to media and a responsive touchscreen. it is just an ipod that can do phone calls. what im refering to is the functionality and capabilities. therfore, two thumbs for the 5800 touchscreen.

Until then, it is simply left up to each person. Personally, NO touch screen will ever be like the Iphones because no other touch screen (so far) uses capacitance. Resistive touch screens are much less durable and dynamic, and are much more difficult to use. Other than that, decent specs on this phone. Just watch the software.

do not upgrade your version to 20 as there is a virus on it & it create a lot of problem so 11.0.008 is the genioune version !!!

truthfully, this phone is worth every cents...it is superb and it is amazing, i've been using it for almost 2 months now and i haven't encountered any problems mentioned here (either i am lucky or i am just being honest)...ok, any phone model of any brand can encounter problems from time to time and nokia and this unit-5800 is not an exception, but thanks God, everything has a solution..it's not as if, you found a defect and you'll gonna throw the phone straight to the garbage, right...that's when you're gonna use the warranty...anyhow, i believed that generally it is not a defective phone, as proven by my unit which is until not working great and haven't experience any major lag or defect...i suggest that you buy it and enjoy all the great features!!!regards!

Can you get a virtual guitar, so you can use the plectrum?
Can photo's be organized in folders the same as on your PC?
Can this be synced with Microsoft Exchange?
Can you read pdf's, word, excel and powerpoint files?
Is the camera as bad as everyone says?

Negatives
Camera really sucks. When you take the photo you only get 3.2 pixel piece of shit. Latest firmware doesnt change anything about camera. It has a strong flash (makes you blind) and really good lenses but the ccd sensor they are using must be very cheap or nasty. This means next firmware wont solve anything. Think about it before you buy. Talking experience is too low. You cant hear clearly what others are saying while talking. Earphone that Nokia gives sucks. CPU is 370mhz this kind of phone needs at least 450mhz or more. battery performance is too low. two days maximum for average use .
Positives
Music experience is fantastic it has two little speakers they are strong and sound is perfect. After firmware update touch screen works as expected. Navigation is easy and nice. GPS is extremely fast. Browser is working fine. But use opera mini for better web experience. Accelerometer is good but switching is a little bit slow.
If you need to buy a touch phone wait for windows mobile 6.5.
I am a computer engineer and i have to say. Symbian is not a good operating system for touch screen phones.

its not a good phone at all. i had it and it got spoiled after 2 months, the colour changes, you cant hear clearly what others are saying, at the end touch is not working.
i will never recommend anyone to buy.

I bought a 5800 today, and tried to install Nokia updater from 3 different sources, first from its CD, then from a local Nokia website, and later from Nokia itself.
Although the last PCSuite was better than two former ones, none of them are able to update my nokia 5800 XpressMusic firmware so I can have Geo Tagging etc.
That's a pittye because I am sure there is a huge difference betwenn version 11 and version 20 of software, somebody please help!!!

So plz try to buy a solid thing when spending lot of money.....

My usage wud b more on gprs/internet & appz & also music.
I hav heard for the accelerator feature, 5800 is not dat good, but is better in terms of camera & music.
I have found almost all features are same & v. nice.
Guyz plz help me.

A lot of people complain on the 3.2 megapixel camera. The reason is because nokia is ordering the camera for the phone by samsung til 5 megapixel.
They changed the company where they used to order the camera. Is cheaper i think.
