Zzzz, 10 Oct 2008N85 quality, looks and features (5mpx)with the big touch sc... moreyou are asking why we are excited? because this phone is almost complete and it is cheap. don't tell me price doesnt matter to you. unless you are a rich person who have money to throw around.
if N85 is the perfect phone for you and bakekang, then buy it and spare us from thrashing 5800. sorry, unlike you we are poor.
and go get bakekang and transfer to N85 opinions and stop injecting nonsense to 5800 opinions section.

Brett, 11 Oct 2008This is a great first up foray into the world of touch-scre... morei'm sure nookia will come up with a mobile that has those kinds of features in it. I think they just wanted to make a "test run" for their touchphones.
as we can all see, this is nokia's market strategy,
first they produce a mobile phone that has lower specs than most of other mobiles(omnia, etc.) to ensure it's affordabilty.
they target the young, because obviously, they hold the largest, if not one of the largest, percentage of the mobile phone market to ensure sales.
then after that, if all is well, they will start to bombard the mobile phone market with touchphones under the N and E series which will, for sure, be more expensive and will sport higher specs.( camera, etc.)
that is what i think..^^

This is a great first up foray into the world of touch-screen phones by Nokia - and for the people its marketed to, is ideal.
Reading some of the posts in here, I agree that Nokia will need to come up with something for the higher end of their phone users (those that love the N and E series), that includes:
* Office suite with edit functionality
* 8MP camera
* DivX Player (supported at least)
These are just a few items that spring to mind - but combining the 5800 with an N96 and more functionality would be the ultimate phone. And would certainly kill off its opposition.

My review is about mobile phone cameras.
The Nokia 5800 is one of the best mobiles on the market. Many of you are stressing the camera resolution. So what if it has a 3.2 mp camera. It has a good camera which takes excellent photos. Just like any other camera. When you look at the i8510's 8 mp camera, doesn't it do the same thing as the 5800's camera? Take your pictures!!!! Regardless of the resolution. 8 mp is better but 3.2 mp with carl zeiss gets the job done also. 3.2 mp might seem low to you but that does not change the fact that it will take your photos. Excellent photos!!! You need to stop clicking options to read the picture details and start looking at the damn photo that you took. Many of you just like to see 8 mp written on the lens but dont give a crap about the pictures you took. So stop complaining.

Well mates,
I´ve seen it, touch it, play it, ear it and love it. It´s way much better then iPhone. Here´s some great points:
1- Play music on the loudspeaker, loud and clear (AMAZING!!!) best one in the market
2- DAC chip for great audio quality (DJ´s I know what this means ;D)
3- A-GPS with real voice guidance (not a dummy map saying "where am I?" like some others)
4- 4 types of writing: *Full Qwerty *Handwriting recognition (Awesome!!!) *regular mobile phone keypad with large buttons for fingers *Mini Qwerty (smaller view with all keys)
5- Total web experience with Flash player and several Secure protocols certificates included (for Homebanking)
6- Conectivity: you got *Bluetooth 2.0 *Wlan *Micro USB 2.0 (unbelievable!! 1 complete CD transfered to the memory card in less then 30 seconds!!!!) and REAL 3G/HSDPA (3,5G) with 3.6Mbps of download :O!!!
7- MicroSD support with up to 16GB compatibility
8- Totally customisable (you can create your own theme or install new others available on the net)
9- With Symbian S60 you got whatever you want: MSN, loads of games and DIVX players (did I mentioned it has TV-out connection, YES you can view movies on a real TV with 640x360 pixels which is more less VHS)
10- 3.2MP Carl Zeiss lents camera with auto-focus, now that´s great pictures!!!
Well there´s more other things to tell, but these are a iPhone Knock-Out.
Cheers!

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2008Not that it matters but this isnt Nokia's 1st touch screen ... moreActually it's the 4th touchscreen phone by Nokia. There is another handset called 6708 released last 2005. It has a touchscreen display but it also has a keypad. But if you are not considering this phone, then the 5800 is the 3rd touchscreen nokia phone.

muhammad abdelaziz, 10 Oct 2008finally nokia made mobile phone with touch screen display !!Not that it matters but this isnt Nokia's 1st touch screen phone. Cast your mind back 4-5 years ago, Nokia announced the 7700 which was a touch screen handset but I dont think it was ever released. Then in 2004 they announced the 7710 which was also a touch screen handset.
The 5800 XpressMusic is actually Nokia's 3rd touch screen handset. Just thought you might like to know...

N85 quality, looks and features (5mpx)with the big touch screen of 5800 : that is what i would like, Nokia is probably working on it for their next Nserie. But as for now touch screen is new for Nokia whereas N85 is the result of many years of experience, i will buy n85. No offense, i don't know why people are so excited about 5800, LG and Samsung are making great touch screen phones (Viewty) since a long time...
