ok guys.i have been using this phone for 13 months and here is my review and pls for those who want this phone,do read this:
At first ,u would say-WOOOOOOOOWWWWWW.what a handset.and this is actually true.this phone does have great features like music is awesome ,touchscreen is ok(not very good),gps is good,playing movies on it is good.
But thats about it.Camera on it is ,u can say,ok.not great at all,but not worst too.I knw its a 3 mp camera and the video recording is great only in day light.taking photos is ok .i mean the photo quality is ok only in sunlight.BUT IN THE AREAS OF LOW LIGHT-the camera is not good.but ofcourse u can set the night mode on -and with it the photos would be good,but then the video recording will be laggy,very laggy.so this phone is not for camera lovers.
Then comes the software part.Definitely there are tonnes of software out there.BUT.If u install many softwares,ur phone will be laggy .it will hang a lot.Actually this is the problem with its 434 mhz processor.I installed flip font ,widgitizer.And my phone is like A BIG FAT LADY which doest want to move at all.i mean its very laggy.
BUT if u format it and if the phone is free from softwares then the os is ok and the phone will work fine.
NEXT,music-no problems ,fantastic.
TOUCH SCREEN-its ok.U wont be having any problems with it.
GPS-ITS perfect with v50.
VERDICT-Its a must buy for a music lover.
NOT FOR A CAMERA LOVER at all.
IN india,this phone costs RS.13,400.I had bought it for RS 16,600.I dont regret buying this phone .but yes,if samsung WAVE was released year ago,i would have definetly bought that phone.AND TO PEOPLE WHO WaNT to buy this phone,please add 3000-4000 rupees and buy WAVE.IT iS worth (believe me its really worth)the price.

5800 is still expensive @ 12,500 i would rather go for X6 with better 5mp camera with price tag of 15k

this nokia 5800 is one of a smartphone.people upgrade the firmware to enjoy the updates.the new fw 50,5,13 i hope is the latest as of now.it comes with diff fw softwares for each function like for sound video n all . . unlike othr s60 fws.nokia 5800 is definately worth it.when new 5th ed sw comes on n on we can definately customize our phone..welll but i think the gprs is slw at times.it may be due to sp but stil.n camera clarity needs to be improoved but still cam is fine with its 3,2mp as nokia says :-) sound effects are awesome if u know how to set the eq for the player.n if possible buy an lcg jukebox to install in 5800.it makes really good soundwith qualityy n effects, its worth it well nokia 5800 is really a cool gadget thanks to nokia..

demetri, 03 Aug 2010this phone is like a brick. it should be slim like a i phon... morei agree shouldnt compare 5800 with iphone4. surely different class of phone,different performance. furthermore, this phone is already 2 years old, while iphone 4 was just released.is 5800 that good that it is comparable to iphone4?

u cant watch avi videos...only very low quality mpeg or3gp videos work....if u open a big webpage all the running softwares closes wid a message saying it has rub out of memory..muzic is the worst...i dunno why de call it xpress music becoz the sound is so low that u cAn hear ur heartbeat while playin music...it has no good softwares or games...the screen looks as if u juzt pikd it from a gutter...

who ever says this phone is good iseither a nokia fanboy or iphone hater....this phone is the slowest mobile ive ever used..cam quality is as bad as old nokias 1.3mp cameras...u cant see any dicerence between blue and green

people...dont buy this phone....im using it right now and i cant stop hitting my head..this.is the worst mobile i can think of right now.....i have always used nokia phones and loved them..but this moble is the worst in the history of touchscreen phones

this phone is superb, with a low price tag! dont hesitate to buy this fone and upgrade its FW. Good battery life, good cam, DURABLE!

Good phone, fine os. If you dont like its homescreen use custom firmware or install orange homescreen, if you think nokia default icons is ugly change with themes, if you hates nokia fonts install font router...love you 5800 ill upgrade my phone soon to n8. Hope so...

now u can buy it coz rates r lower now as compared when its launch. pic quality is goog.but sum times wen it hang v hav to switch it off as it is buttonless phone. but one can enjoy internet surfing n brousing on it.
