You know, this phone isnt bad.
The camera is ok, menu works pretty fine and the software is rather stable. The only bad parts are scrolling your contacts with your finger (unless you have the hands of a 9 year old girl) and the fact the phone feels insanly cheap! It's like plastic all over. Same reason i would prefer an E series phone over all N series (N86 aint bad thow).
Overall a decent phone, but not a number 1

Well, u can try doin soft reset, it makes no harm but i dun tink it'll work. I recommend to do a hard reset, at least ur prob will be resolved once it for all. N also another thing, when u do a hard reset, ur memory card files will not be wiped out, only ur phone memory, n it is advisable to take out ur memory card while doin a hard reset:)

Well rahul, ur indeed rite on connecting d gps, its takes 5mins to even 20mins initially to get a signal. Nokia has poor gps receiver. Make sure u get a signal before startin ur journey n no buildings nor tree is blockin. It'll make it more diff to receive d signal. I've searched d internet in order to boost d signal strength, but none tat i can find. Jus hv patience n everything will be fine:)

D ringer is quite loud, but if its in really noisy area, then i guess u might not be able to hear, tat is y they created vibration:-) or put ur phone in front pocket:) tat would be d best:)

guys i maybe buy this phone for 2 weeks... is it true that if u updated this phone to v.40 it will have some problem? pls give me some informations/advises on it.... second is i want to know what are the steps to update this phone to v.40 and third is does it need to have internet access when u are updating it? and is it free to update? that my 3 questions pls answer me... thanks to all!! godbless!! pls answer me

im unable to connect to gps satnav wen use nokia maps ovi one.... where as i use google maps it shows seeking sat (3) number keeps on changing....wats problem???? can ny one tell.....

Btw, Hard reset means "GREEN+RED+CAM when Powering ON"? I know it will erase entire phone memory (Card memory also???), so its my last choice. Only can do next weekend or later.
Instead, Do you think "soft reset" *#7370# may work?

chetan n satori u guys can buy dis its great value for money.... has free satnav which i luv though it takes too long over 5mins to connect to gps(NEO CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG)mine takes dat much of time.... nd yes OS do hang if u run mny app same time just like pwrfull pc goes slow with multitasking so it ok....... n samsng str is not a smrtphone.....

Yes by hard reset, u'll have no worries, its just like formating ur pc and reinstalling windows, it'll be exactly like tat alrite, :-) so hard reset will do the trick, :=)

i want 2 buy nokia 5800 XM
is dis phone is ... moreIts GOOD-BAD-UGLY.
GOOD- for complete with features, Value for money. Low price.
BAD- for very unstable OS. hangs & freezes every now and then.
UGLY- due to freezing prblems you loose peace of mind. not very intuitive visually. No UI consistancy.
