venus-bangalore, 15 Mar 2010guys, plses smebody help me - how to resolve "menu: me... morewhat I woild suggest nokia is to supply this phone without back (on battery) panel and memory card since it requires to remove them both every now and then, as frequently as 2-3 times in 1 hour :-D LOLLLL

guys, plses smebody help me - how to resolve "menu: memory full.. please close some applications..." problem.
i am frustrated!. it does show the messsage when i try to open apps even if i'm not running any aps. then, if i restart, sure to see a "white screen of death". no other way than removing battery & memory crd.
till yesterday i was recommending this phone to the people who ask. but now i recommend not to buy this crap. no use of hell lot of apps & features when phone itself doesnt work.
it really tortures!

notification to all v4****5 up-graders... your handset will require you to slide on screen to unlock the handset when answering calls and responding to alarms... the firmware is similar to the Nokia N97 except for home screen tilting, advanced home screen widgets and kinetic scrolling in main menus...

eldrin, 14 Mar 2010guys i maybe buy this phone for 2 weeks... is it true that ... moreDo not hesitate in purchasing the Nokia 5800XM handset... v 4****5 is currently the latest firmware update by Nokia for this device and it has a few bugs like all major firmware updates suffer but would be sorted out by the release of a newer version soon... the latest version is not as bad as the reports claim, so don't be held back by the comments...
the latest software version is available for free but version 4****5 is not available for all handsets... it will depend on your product code, you can check if your handset can be upgraded to firmware version 4****5 by providing your product code on the Nokia site... you can find the product code on the IMEI sticker inside the handset...
updating your device requires internet since you have to download the updates from the Nokia server... the file size would vary from 100MB to 140MB depending on your region... there are 2 methods for updating your handset..
Method 1 is to update via PC. to update via pc you will have to connect using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) which is freely available to download from Nokia.
Method 2 you can update the software OTA (over the air) by dialling *#0000# on your handset which would show your current software details. go to options and select check for updates... you will be notified with the available update if there is any... your internet settings should be defined properly on your mobile for OTA updates...

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970if your handset was bought off the shelf, it would have no problems in working in the UK... please check for operator contracts if you had bought your handset from your operator which would normally result in your device being country locked...

LK, 14 Mar 2010I installed New firmware v4****5. Now I have faced a troubl... moretry soft resetting your device by dialling *#7370#, you will have to enter your security code and the phone would restart automatically... if this fails, try reinstalling your firmware... make sure you have formatted your memory card after the firmware update to avoid compatibility issues...

nd if that way dailer dosent open just open menu nd press green call button.... this ewill definately wrk

I have this mobile, but it hangs on multiple times.....so hard to manage...and what are all the locations the call logs are saving...becos it is saving in call log, wscache....please let me know where it is saving all the call logs....i don't want other to see my call logs.......hence i want to delete it as my need is over..please do let me know

Rudy, 14 Mar 2010thanks rahul and Anonymous...it came back on without the me... morehy rudy .......my brother faced d same prob in his hand set..... ur r talking about dailer nd contact bar right.... just do this it worked..... take back up of all ur data from file manager.... after that remove ur card nd then from home screen press menu button select contact nd instantly press green call button dailer will get opend n den do a reset by *#7370#.... it ask for restart just sect yess...... just remove ur memory card after taking back up n b4 reset

NEO, 15 Mar 2010Hye there, u can go to the music app and go to options and ... morehy Neo i tried that but it keeps on searching for hrs but finds no songs si i have to cancel search..... reseted it again but same problem... v40 is too bugy.... tanx man but need find another solution
