Good phone, good price. Use to have it until yesterday it slipped out from car without me notice.
Have upgraded it to v.40. It's fixed the most annoying problem when messaging. It's now automatic adjust the keypad to the phone direction (landscape: qwerty, straight: candybar type keypad.
ohh.. miss it already

You should first download latest version of NSU in your P.C. and then check and download V40.

But every country n time bought n colour have diffrent product code.. Which the newest firmware can compatible for recomended product code for the firmware version.. So if ur device.. Can strech update the firmware is mean that ur 5800 has already has the latest product code which compatible with latest firmware but how about with the 5800 that some our friends in every country that bougth it 3months or 6month or even 1year ago?? They must be have uncompatible product code for the latest firmware such as v40... So if want to solve uncompatble product code u need software name JAF.. I had already update my firmware twice.. 1st v31 n the last v4 even my product code not compatible with it coz i use JAF. Ok

js1970, 27 Feb 2010So please, share with us your trick, because many of us hav... morei used ovi suite to update my firmware to v40.0.005... it failed a few times, and the last time it failed but got til the part it says home v40 or something (cant remember). i disconnected it, removed the battery, turned it back on, and its on v40... FOTA does not detect d v40. i was on v21 i think. hope that helps

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2010where can i download free videos for this phone?hey friends. About the camera. Thats not so bad. Infact pretty good for a 3.2mp snapper. At first when i bought 5800 the pics would get some how greenish colour. But the problem was fixed by itself. That when i was using v31 firmware. Then I updated my phone to v40 firmware and now the camera is even better.
About downloading movies. Try moviesmobile.net
All movies there are in avi format so you will need smart movie player for them. Incase its difficult for you to find smart movie player or you dont like it, I have another solution. Download and install official divx player for s60v3 phones and install it to your phone. Then download virtual keyboard from this link.

Now open virtual keyboard and keep it running while you open divx player. This key board will help you use divx player. I think its easier them smart movie atleast for rewind forward.
Well recently I did tweet divxlabs to work on a divx player for s60v5 phones. Lets hope for the best.

the camera for this phone is better than e series phone.why? coz its built with carl zeiss even only 3.2 mp, the screen is large so that its enough to take a nice picture.. but if u want better than that, u can buy others phone that have 5mp camera with carl zeiss.i think this phone is really good n the speaker is great..

OK. So i have owned my 5800 for 8 months and i used to think it was the bomb...... until i checked out videos on youtube of HTC phones like hero and HD2, Samsung wave, palm pre, iphone and nexus one and now i get why they say symbian is so outdated, granted it's a solid OS but come on.... if you have owned a S60v3 phone then the S60v5 feel totally the same because well..... IT IS, just that its touch-based. An i just checked out preview videos of the "new refreshed" symbian 4..... and it's just awful. am probably buying nokia next time i look for a phone. Symbian is just way off.... believe me. and if you dont just check out the videos on youtube!! the only touch-based nokia worth a mention is the n900 period. the 5800 is mainly popular because it's cheap.... and sadly i now know why :-(
