it can play 3gp,mp4 by default real player for .avi format u need to install LCG smartmovie app..
There are thousands of apps available for 5800 around the net..
I happy with it, still now no crashes occured.. recommended for everyone..

1.non transparency home screen,
2.contacts-bar scrolling is not as good as 5530xm one's,
3.calendar plugin missing,
4.web browser crashes oftenly when compared to v30,
v40 is still unhackable thru Hellox is the only major disadvantage for me & some hackers..
So, i downgraded my F/W from v40 to v30...

- yes here and there, but never when talking, texting. Mostly when upgrading software, or surfing flash or javascript heavy sites
Does it have many supported app?
- I think so, mostly everything for Symbian 60 5th will run + it has Java MIDP Support. Check Ovi store and getjar.com
Does the touchcreen responsive?
- It is, yes. Browsing with for example Opera Mobile is really nice.

- Yes, Nokia 5800 runs 3gp. Mp4 is also supported, and it runs without hitches 360x640. My phone a trailer for batman movie preloaded and picture is crytal clear.
P.S.
With OviMaps 3.03 you also get GPS Satellite Navigation totally free.That includes loading maps to memory card so you don even have to be online (costs money!) to use it. Super bargain!

i have put a screen protector today. but after that, its becomming damn difficult to scroll through any lists. (as the plastic feels very slippery), even the kinetic crolling became very poor. but, click (tapping) is just fine. no difference.
No question on the quality of protector plastic. it is good & put by nokia dealer professional.

Typing from my Nokia 5800 here and I'd say it was a decent value for $200. Now I'm not going to pretend this phone isn't glitchy sometimes. The internet browser regularly crashes. But a large part of the instability comes from the phone's ability to handle java and some flash sites. Support for these most likely overwhelm the phone's processor while many phones (including the iPhone) just leave out the software. So it's not so much a minus as a two sided coin.
My biggest qualm with this phone is its thickness, though. It's far from sexy.
Pros for this phone is that it has excellent battery life. It stays charged for two days and I durf the net a lot. It also has one of the higher quality screens on the market. Lots of colors and pixels, despite being a tad bit small.

pl... moreHey, Thanks for the tip. I realised on the 1st day, i used my Zune's earphone on this. (but not selected line out, i will try that too) But my comment on loudness was about the built in speakers. (not with earphones.) sorry for being unclear abt it!.
Im not lieing guys, if you get a chance, experience the 6233's music in it's own built in speakers. its amazin, so far not heard, not seen any other music device (handheld) so louder. Feels like a dolby theater!!! aaaah :-) Believe me, i'm still carrying that phone also now in my pocket, juts for music. kill all these expressmusic phones& sony walkmans phones :-(
