still camera need improvement no change in camera quality still after updating to v40
during day time its best but as sun goes down pic quality of this phone goes.....

1... moreMy dear, are forgotten that a number of people have this phone? Why not rate this Nokia 5800xm at 95% rather than comparing it with others? Always read people opinion before posting anything.
I can confidently tell you that NOKIA Phone remain atop of other phones in everythings. If you need a camera for photos as a photographer, go for a digital camera and allow your gadget to rest and use it for other functions, etc.

i have notice that this nokia 5800 upgarde v40 do not work on the nokia 5800 rm 428. can somebody help with this one. i notice the upgrade is for the europeans 5800 and not the americian one.

GUYS, I think the llatest version is available in India for a certain product codes of Handsets, Iam not sure though. Please wait with patience. You may also get the update in coming days. But THIS FIRMWARE 40.0.005 IS THE BIGGEST ONE FOR NOKIA 5800 WHICH HAS GIVEN A WHOLE NEW LOOK TO 5800. THANKS NOKIA....

The software displayed that the new firware 40.0.005 is available for download. Since I had Tata Indicom Broadband connection, I left the phone for the updation. After one hour when I returned, the message "Your phone has been updated to the latest software" welcomed me. Now my 5800 rocks like anything..

Yup, TV out works fantastically. TV out cable was not there in the box. I bought N95 cable for 300 rs and TV output works amazingly with it. I load lots and lots of videos ( remember HD and HQ MP4 videos converted through Total Video Converter) into my 5800 and then watch them on my TV relaxing on the sofa.. :) :) cool...

WOW... Finally I updated my 5800's firmware to 40.0.005. I am in Bangalore in India. I never knew the new firmware has been released. But I came to know about this from Nokia 5800 Tube blog. I updated the firmware through NSU and it took nearly 1 hour to complete. Now my Nokia 5800 rocks like anything.. WOW... These are the changes..
1) Finally Kinetic scrolling everywhere except application menu, main menu and browser. I love to scroll the songs, contacts and all others now similar to N97.. Superb..
2) Beleive me, the Phose is even more stable now, with the touch screen even more responsive.. :)
3) Finally new screen similar to 5530, Use the contact bar screen and you can see the change. You can add upto 20 contacts and Kinetic scroll them on home screen. And your music player shows like a live widget below in this screen similar to 5530. Superb.
4) Real Player has been updated to 12 Oct 2009, and now the videos have even more charm in them while playing. Superb..
5) The music experience is even more refined now and its just amazing.
6) Finally amazing improvement in the camera's performance.. Thanks Nokia... Thanks a lot for this
7) When typing messages, you will automatically get qwerty screen when you rotate the phone horizontally.
There are lot more improvements. I still need to identify them. But my Nokia 5800 now rocks like anything especially with Kinetic scrolling. I can proudly show my phone to my pals who have N97. N97 is just N5800 with more memory. Infact N5800 has a separate dedicated chip for audio which N97 lacks. Music experience on N5800 is the best till date compared to any other Nokia pjones release till now.
Thanks Nokia for this most memorable New Year Gift.

Then update your firmware using NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER. good luck

pls help me how to deal my essue. i had updated my v30 to v40 just over a minute ago using NSU. And it's succesfully done to v40. But here comes the problemS. there is no kenitic s. and eve the shorcut menu doest work only the contact bar is applicable. I can't see any improbment on my 5800, otherwise it becomes worst than before.Please help me how to fix this. thnx.
