Why are there so many troubleshooting + support questions and answers here?
This should be a space for reviews + opinions on the phone, not a troubleshooting section.
The point of these comments are for people visiting the site to get a sense of how good/bad the phone is. Visitors here are just faced with pages of people asking how to update their phone software?

You can use NSS to change your code. NSS is pretty simple installation and easy to use. Here's the link www.b-phreaks.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page_2
Then update your firmware using NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER. good luck

pls help me how to deal my essue. i had updated my v30 to v40 just over a minute ago using NSU. And it's succesfully done to v40. But here comes the problemS. there is no kenitic s. and eve the shorcut menu doest work only the contact bar is applicable. I can't see any improbment on my 5800, otherwise it becomes worst than before.Please help me how to fix this. thnx.

wohho..! New Nokia 5800 Xpress Muzic is roking man...fantabulous device... I'm currently using it. Feather touch- touch screen, querty keypad is very ezzy to use as like as u r working on E90's keypad... e-net surfing experience is very different and enjoyable... And man wht a snap quality it gives us by it's 3.2 mp carl zaiss lense...!! Very fast downloading and buffering video frm youtube, u can see it directly in ur standard real player in some seconds... Video quality is really apprecited. And Muzic.....? It's like live in consert to listening summer of 69 in ur 5800... Very clear and big voice by two hidden sleek surround sound speakers... Muzic experience is really really unbeatable.
U can listen muzic nonstop up to 35hr. On dis device but on operating mode bettary is little weak(u can countinuosly oparate it arround 7hr.)...
Over all rating frm 5 star: I'll give it 4.5 star

Hi Guyz.
JUST updated my firmware from v21.xx to v40.xx
SOME CHANGES ARE:
1.Comes With Kinetic Scrolling (one of great feature)
2.Camera shutter sound is removed in silent and offline mode.
3.NEW Application for “Updating Applications”, which also renames Upgrade SW
4.OVI New contact Application is added.
5.music widget on idle screen.
6.Home Screen becaome like that of Nokia 5530.
7.New screen incoming call, also only when the screen is locked.
Mine update was 128mb.when i downloaded.
Any way great uptade.

Iam from Chennai, I updated to v40 on 16-Jan-2010 thru Aircel GPRS only.
My OVI suite and update manager gave trouble with Vista.
So did a update thru Aircel GPRS , took one hour to download and then approx 5 mins to install.

hey guyz!
how does this "slide to unlock during call" feature works? two buttons are showing up during a call, one is the Answer button and the other is the Unlock button, but whenever I tap those buttons, nothing happens. what should I do? should I slide my finger to the buttons as the feature name suggest? ["slide" to unlock]? please enlighten me on this..thanks in advance!
