ehsanm672001, 18 Jan 2010i have tried to update to v40 with nsu bue when it is almos... morei think, the problem is with your internet connection....i updated my FW via NSU and finished it in 30 minutes (+/-)...just try to get a good internet connection and you'll update it fast...regards...

i have tried to update to v40 with nsu bue when it is almost over it stops.for 3 time i have tried and it has said"update failed","network connection error" or "internal error".
any one have had this problem?what shoud i do?

WOW... Finally I updated my 5800's firmware to 40.0.005. I am in Bangalore in India. I never knew the new firmware has been released. But I came to know about this from Nokia 5800 Tube blog. I updated the firmware through NSU and it took nearly 1 hour to complete. Now my Nokia 5800 rocks like anything.. WOW... These are the changes..
1) Finally Kinetic scrolling everywhere except application menu, main menu and browser. I love to scroll the songs, contacts and all others now similar to N97.. Superb..
2) Beleive me, the Phose is even more stable now, with the touch screen even more responsive.. :)
3) Finally new screen similar to 5530, Use the contact bar screen and you can see the change. You can add upto 20 contacts and Kinetic scroll them on home screen. And your music player shows like a live widget below in this screen similar to 5530. Superb.
4) Real Player has been updated to 12 Oct 2009, and now the videos have even more charm in them while playing. Superb..
5) The music experience is even more refined now and its just amazing.
6) Finally amazing improvement in the camera's performance.. Thanks Nokia... Thanks a lot for this
7) When typing messages, you will automatically get qwerty screen when you rotate the phone horizontally.
There are lot more improvements. I still need to identify them. But my Nokia 5800 now rocks like anything especially with Kinetic scrolling. I can proudly show my phone to my pals who have N97. N97 is just N5800 with more memory. Infact N5800 has a separate dedicated chip for audio which N97 lacks. Music experience on N5800 is the best till date compared to any other Nokia pjones release till now.

Guys...to those of you who succeed to upgrade your firmware to version 40 via OTA, please may i know your product code. I want to upgrade to v 40 but unfortunately not available yet to my product code. Cheers

Hi guys...wnted to knw..has any of you had there screens changed...v had ths 4ne for almst an yr and ma screen z got scratches!so,wanted to knw if nokia guys do change it n put a new one and z it risky!

marzuk...u can update through both ways...if u have wifi then go for [ota] as it's faster......
no it will not ask for any kind of key or code.....

vishal it's available in india.....& yesterday night i updated my firmware to v40......one day back even my phone was not showing any update.....so be patient yaar.....

heres my phone: rm 356,made in hungary,v31..heres my problem: i cant update to v40! if i check OTA v31 is the latest and on NSU v31 is the latest for mine...help, what should i do!! i read that people who have the same phone as me could update, should i wait, ur change product code and blablabla!1 HELP

There is still no v4.0 firmware for Balkans product code. So i changed to Euro1 an updated to fw4.0
Phone now works beautifuly. Battery still holds for 5-6 days. I am keeping this one for some time.

NEW FIRMWARE RELEASED AND UPDATED TO MY PHONE. v 4.0.0.0.5.
1. Kinetic Scrolling Enabled for contacts and gallery but not for Menu.
2. New Home Screen. Contacts Bar+ShortCut Bar.
HOW TO UPDATE
VIA PHONE
1.Press *#0000# and then press options check for updates.
You must need to connect to internet through gprs or wifi to download updates through mobile.
In Broadband Wifi it will take 8 minutes to download and will take 6 minutes to update the firmware. in gprs it will take long time depending on the connection speed.
VIA PC
Download Nokia Software Update through Nokia Website and install it and run it while connecting your phone to the internet connected PC.
