version 40 is here all 5800 owners and it has come with a bang.kinetic scrolling and all .i think its just 2 days since its been released.change ur product code and enjoy ur 5800.

for all the ppl who are gettin v30 or v31 as their latest fw for their phone on nokia website.. try checkin through the nokia software updater(NSU) as well.. cause i got the same issue when i checked through the nokia website, it showed tht the latest FW available for my 5800 is v30, but when i connected it via the NSU it showed v40 as the latest and voila, i got it installed immediately.. try it.. and btw i'm from india too and i got my piece in oct..

Hi,
I am from Rajasthan (India). My operator in Airtel (Rajasthan). As everyone knows that Nokia has realsed a new firmware. But i don't know of what reasons i am not able to update my phone it is showing me that my operation does not allow me to update the phone. Please help how can i update my phone.

hi i am from goa India i purchased it four months ago i am still stuck with 30.0.011, nokia India website shows 31.0.101 has been released but using both NSU and over air it show no updates for my mobile ,now with v.40.0.005 been updated by Indian members here i am really fed up with Nokia here why are they discriminating against their own customers ? from the same region and country ? i have send a angry email to nokia India today will post their response later

help gsm arena my firmware is v31 but nokia web site says the latest firmware for my produt code(0575378) is v30 but a week back it was showing v31 . this has been happening since the v40 update surfaced online.
my phone is made in finland. i live in Goa,India.
i had got the cell frm U.A.E.

I used to be a Nokia fan... moreI have different experience from yours. 99 percent of usage I never use stylus pen as very easy to use my thumb. Syncing emails and contacts is so easy and smooth. I guess you firmware is not mature yet. I bought 5800 with firmware 20 on board and it was stable. Now I have firmware 31 and will upgrade to firmware 40. Generally I am very happy with this phone. In my opinion it's the best value phone ever.

there are many application by which you can chat... e.g. e-buddy.
also there are application by which you can download email on ur phone... just like MS outlook... check nokia website to get this all free......

nokia india has no information abt v40 but i did made a update using NSU... new uodate ia really nice... touch sensivity is increased, kinetic scrolling is more smoother than that of 5530 n N97. this update has made 5800 the best touchscreen of NOKIA... we i bought this phone on 25th dec, i was really disappointed due to lack of kinetic scrolling n that sucking hoescreen. nw i lov my 5800.. best phone ever.. nokia didnt applied kinetic scrolling on browser because of lots of complaints received from 5530 users, which had kinetic scrolling on browser... i really lov this phone now... i recommend everyone to go for this phone.. this is worth the money i paid... n regarding the message typing on it, its really easy wid full scree qwerty... i always use it... very smooth qwerty so far i a touchscreen... really good phone... only probkem i have is battery, it just lasts 1 day wid 2 hrs talktime, 2 hrs browsing on opera mobile, n 2 hrs of music n 10 photo shots.. i really love the clarity of music in this phone after v40... if u cant update now, have passion for abt a week, then every NOKIA CARE will do ur update there... well done nokia

Hey shivani i have also product code 0575590
But few days my phone not worked and i go to NPD
they updated my version from V30 to v31.
And yestrerday when i connect NSU it shows new version
V40. I updated it.
SO u just go to NPD and update your phone

I used to be a Nokia fan... moreThere is other browser options for nokia as it is for other OS platforms, the windows have I-Explorer but menu use Firefox or other software they fell more conformable with it, so the Nukia Symbian OS have a wide choice o browsers and few of them are good as on desktop computers, the SkyFire, Bolt, mini Opera5 or Opera mobile10, UC-web browser, Digia@web, Google Chrome, jB5, and Ozone v0.9, so it's up to you to choice??
Well, for keyboard you claims is ridiculous, because this phone have the best touch screen keyboard from the rest of the phones on the market, you have mini keyboard, full screen keyboard, writing recognition keyboard pad, numeric keyboard and is very sharp and stable phone about it, I actually use mini keyboard most of the time, and write a lot of messages on forums, and i found out keyboard in this phone is very very good, so i don't know wot is your problem, is it your nails or you are used on other phones and you have difficult to get used to nokia reality, maybe you know it better about it..., so go get better browser and experience your phone, and see wot our friends are saying sens new update is now possible, this phone is becoming the best phone from the rest, and wery cheap to have on your pocket!

v40 is now available for 5800....simply awesome....if you have any doubts , just go to Nokia dealer and ask for 5800 demo....forget apple phone.
i was waiting for this since more than one year. atlast Nokia has updated the same.
Now guys. i tell you this is the best ever phone made by Nokia having all features with value for money.
In chennai, India it costs around Rs 12500/-.
Dont compare with other phones feature as you will never find elsewhere. This is a new year gift to Nokia lovers.
As there will not be any smoke without fire, those who are still thinking of buying, just go for it.
remember , its not a mini computer ao laptop, but it works like a smartphone with all features and value for money.

I have this phone since June 2009. I used to be a Nokia fan. I've always bought Nokia. This phone has proven that Nokia can't handle the touch experience. The touch screen doesn't have sensibility. And the typing screen is really annoying. You necessarily need the stylus to type. And don't make me start on OVI, syncs, and the whole internet "experience". The browser is a disaster. With regret I wish it breaks so I have to buy a new phone. Definitely not Nokia.
