am using my sony dsc digicams tv out cable(3.5 mm) for my nokia 5800.it connects and works with a breeze. but u will not get so much quality to the movies than it really played on the pc. its bcoz of the conversion of the phone to av media by the phone ic. but if nokia release a new firmware upgrade for 5800 to improve the user interface, camera image acquisition quality, speed improvement, memory management, speedy switching of display rotation using accelerometer and some little bug fixes ..then it will defeat all the phones including n95 and n85 etc.. and the user will get great value for money for a great feature rich phone nokia 5800. but if nokia cleared all the problems with the next 5800 firmware upgrade, every user will go for 5800 and nokia will need to reduce the price of n85, n97-mini etc..in accordance with the price of 5800. i think they will not..they may stop the support for 5800 coz of the business purposes i think..

Now, my assumption is if it doesnt have the sticker, tv out is internally supported even if cable is not provided in the box. Right?>??.

Ahmed Gwad, 02 Jan 2010What is the firmware , Is it needed for my 5800??Firmware is computing term, usually used to denote fixed to enable basic function operation, also implementing for higher function.
Sure it is, you can check out your firmware *#0000#
On symbian 5th edition such as 5800 you can easily update your firmware via OTA (over the air) as it faster and requires lesser data than using NSU (Nokia Software Updater). Also you don't need to back up your data before update your firmware as it has data loss prevention.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hi B.U.Rhat, how did u confirm "it has TV out". have u connected using a tv cable & make sure it works? or blindly believing some1's reply to ur message. i dont think that option is available again. [i can buy a cable anytime, but i heard no hardware supporting tv out is in the phones released after sept2009]. please let me know the details. im just waiting to buy 5800XM. but i "WANT" TV out more than any other jazzy UI feature.

Dear friends,
I am from Mumbai, India & planning to buy 5800 tomorrow (3rd Jan). My friend from office recently got E72. He uses the same for "Mail for Exchange".
Can someone please urgently confirm whether i can download Mail for exchange (Mfe) in 5800 and the functionality of Mfe in 5800 will be same as in any E series phone.
Regards,
Niks

vinram, 02 Jan 2010 problem here!.. whenever i turn off the phone and turn it... moreI had problem after updated my firmware to v.21 that my internet browser behaved strangely. I hard reset over and over again but the problem still persisted. Finally I hard reset my phone without restore settings and bingo my phone backed to normal. I recently upgraded my firmware to v.31 via OTA and everything is fine. So far, so good. lots of progress on recent firmware: more responsive, faster UI, better audio quality. I don't find any bugs so far.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970What about the music??? Just add Mp3 on to your cell MicroSD Card and just play... You've got to buy it to know how it sounds. Different people have different prespective, don't rely everything on others, try it yourself for once...
