Hi all i have complain lot of things about Nokia 5800 at last they nokia india has replaced by new phone which awsome phone i was misssing since two weeks when i purchased one month since then it was giving problem now im very happy they nokia company sent me latest 5800 with lates software im thankfull for nokia india by doing this job nothing like nokia im big fan fan of urs sincerely im very happy for this Nokia thankyou so much and guys i request use ony application which are available on nokia website for 5800 which is sufficient for daily using we are dumping anything which we see on net they are damaginig phones use limitied themes which look good and install application only authorised from ovi or nokia for long life with Nokia 5800 ,,,,,,,thankyou

You do it on your own risk. Mind that warranty is void in this case. The process is a bit complicated and it's not posssible to discribe it in this forum. The only solution is to google it. You can easy find the full instructions online. First of all you need to get a developer's certificate for yourself. There are few different hacks that you can use, I am using HelloOPDA and it even survived firmware update. Usually when the manufacturer releases the firmware update the hack is not compatable and in some brands its almost impossible to hack again the phone.

I tried lot fo untrusted applications and they appears to work well initially and finally develops lot of problems. I also formatted and reloaded the firmware. Now i came to the situation that If i switch on the phobne it is cooninuously vibrating with out booting. can you ar any body suggest anything beforing sending this phone to shop.

gayan3000, 13 Dec 2009heres the truth and the truth about nokia 5800 and the noki... moreheres the truth and the truth about nokia 5800 and the nokia phones - i got my 5800 second hand since this phone will coast around 45 0000 rs in srilanka i got it for 20 000 rs with all the accessories . and the phone is in new condition even the screen protector havent been removed by the first user . after using it for a while one day my 5800 was exposed to rain water . it was in my pocket and i couldnt find a place to stay without getting wet from the rain cuz it was a very very lonely road without houses . i went home saw that my phone got water inside its screen . i took off batteries and kept it for two three days . and now still its working i can see some small water drops inside the screen which can not be removed by a normal phone repair shop owner but by the official nokia dealer service center . but i didnt even try to take it there the phone is in perfect condition and works like a charm but i removed the cover and cleaned all my curcuits for its own good thats all . the truth is if it was either a chineese mobile or probably something like a sony ericsson / samsung it the phone should be dead by the time it got water inside it . this is how strong nokia's are this is how reliable nokias are this is the truth about nokia . i was a big fan of 5700 when it got released and i never stopped trusting my self on nokia xpress music series cuz im a music lover and i never will .
this is by far the most coolest xpress music phone that got sold in millions by nokia . and when i take my 5800 every where when i listen to music with it people around me want to look at it twice cuz of its decent looks and cool looking touch mp3 interface .

Could someone kindly tell me if Nokia will release a new firmware update with for example, kinetic scrolling and maybe make the phone more stable?
I have Software Version V 31.0.101 right now.

To all the people who complain:
You guys want a touchscreen from nokia but never used symbian. You just switch from your series 4 or something else and want the phone to behave as your old phone. Forget it. This phone is not for you then.
First of all you need to understand what are you buying and what to expect but not to spam this forum with useless bulls..t.
Yes, some of you may get a faulty handset, I agree, but the majority of the bad comments, posted here are just because of the people's ignorance and lack of any knowledge.
Tell me that I'm wrong!!!
