Hello , did anyone use new ovi nokia maps version 3 with 5800 ? i can`t never get gps signal its allways blinking yellow ?? Anyone can help pls send me mail

soniapa, 29 Sep 2009hi can you tell me which other application is good for our ... morel think u wont find a better phone for texting and music, l personally think this phone covers all angles, im using handwriting recognicion right now, yes it has its problems 2 to start with but soon recognises your style of writing. Little l ip, try using starwars lightsaber stylus for dslite, really much better than stylus provided, shame it doesnt fit phone! Lets face it, anything the iphone does that this phone cant is generally useless

I bought this phone a couple of weeks ago. It is my first Nokia phone ever so I can't compare it with any other Nokia phone.
This phone has everything Iphone has with a third of the price (yeah I know, touch screen on IPhone is better but for a third of the price I think it's pretty clear choice!)
It is very slick and great size, light weight, thin, fast, and responsive.
The WiFi on this phone is great, though I'm not a huge fan of Symbian's built-in browser. I Installed Opera mini and I'm pretty happy with it.
The GPS capability is a bonus and with Google Maps, it works perfectly fine for me, fairly accurate and fast in finding routes and all...though I don't think it has audio guidance.
The apps and themes are awesome and they are a ton of apps available on the web for free...
One thing I really am upset about this phone is the battery life. On Nokia website, it says with WiFi, the battery lasts only 3.5hours and honestly, I haven't been able to get a better battery life than 3 days without charging from it (gsmarena has 16 days). That is the only problem I found with this phone so far. I'm buying an extra battery charger for my phone and leaving it in my office in case it runs out of battery when I'm at work...

Had been using this phone for the past 6 months.
If compared only to Nokia phones, the 5800 is worth the value as it still comes with music* it has GPS, wifi and touchscreen capability.
Of couse a 5800 cant be compared to iPhone (price difference) but personally i feel that if money is not a factor, iPhone would always be the first option of mine :D. okay, continues to the opinion of mine.
Wifi and browser speed is acceptable, i dont face any problems except for heavily loaded webpages where phone will start to feel the pinch. Overall, its still rather smooth with internet browsing.
BAD POINT about this phone (or maybe some other model nokia has) is that they lack the UI of scrolling through multiple choices by wiping the finger across the screen. Instead, users have to use the sidebar for scrolling. Which is not accurate. I have about 1000 songs in my phone and the sidebar becomes so short and sensitive. Everytime i tried to find the song, it doesnt bring me to what i want, instead it will jump away from the song i want as when i lift my finger, the placement will go off a little.
Camera images always finish off being a little white. Contrast of images arn't fantastic. Video recording is worst than using a 7610 to record. There would be speckles of red blue green particles in the video.
Finally, the one access media button is AWESOME. Its a relief to have that button !
Lock and unlocking the phones comes with a dedicated slider key which brings convenience to users.
Other than these, the other functions of the 5800 are good.

I think all Samsung phones have a slow interface.
Nokia phones nowadays have the most complete specs but are not the best.
Sony Ericsson phones either have the best cameras or audio but lacks style and phone choices.
Apple Iphones are the trendiest but are they really worth the money?
I say, either go for a phone you'd really love to have or get out of the common choices to be unique and explore new things.

While listening to music...in full volume so... moreYou're right,u dont have any problems with ur headset,im about to confront the same its means i have a good sound only when i set up the high volume,for 50% its too low,40% or 30% its worse,so i thinks for the name express music,the sound is so limited...

it's a mobile theatre.v r enjoying so...picture quality is so fine.internet browsing surface is also very excellence with wide screen.it' s really very very good model of CONNECTING PEOPLE..

hey one another good news is that,,,with this phone nokia company is also give a REEBOK wrist watch worth Rs.1800 (As market rate.)or REEBOK Bag. it is applicable to ahmedabad city ..i dont know any other city has that offer or not...but just check it.....ok..but dont miss a nice watch....i purchased this phone is about 13.5 K with Watch.its a true not a fake ..ok...

hello everybody....
i just bought this phone before 2 days..but in the user guide which is given in the box.in that battery information is given about 5 hrs talk time and 400 hrs standby...so in this site pls note that battery specification is wrong...but battery is more consume than nokia company is said...even i set all display options very low than also i have same prob..so pls mind on that..otherwise phone is best...buy it.

Hi Guys
I just bought the new 5800 in delhi. The problem is that whne i go to menu->maps , the satellite status indicator always keeps on blinking its frst yellow bar, and never shows the green colour. When i do press the "my position" option is says trying to get data frm the satellite. but doesnt do anything. Wats the problem ?

had the phone for 5 months now, downloaded many apps, some good, some crap. Sometimes to phone does not switch back on the first time, after being switched off for a flight. This is a great phone for the price, you will not be dis appointed.

..one help...
While listening to music...in full volume sound is ok, but while volume is around 50 % sound is very low...I mean its not even if u keep volume level around30-40% its very very low....
Is it a common problem or in my hendset has it????

Hey guys! I'm still undecided between this and the n85. I know the 5800 has a better screen for vids and web but I also need a decent camera. Anybody have a NAM version? What's the latest fw for the nam version and how is the camera?
