You are right, but it means that you are not quite a symbian guy. This exactly is the beauty of symbian phones, its deceptive. It may not come preloaded with many apps and it may restrict many functions but you can do almost anything with it, if you know how. There are millions of 3rd party softwares and apps which makes the best use of your hardwares. 5800 can very much record voice calls and silent the camera...

hey ashok do not upgrade ur phone by urself go to the nokia care centre they will do it for free for one year. my lcd crashed when i did it my self. tk cr buddy

Oh, how can it damage the LCD screen when you upgrade the firmware? I think that most people do upgrade firmware by themselve, and this is the normal thing to do.

akash, 24 Sep 2009How is the PDF document reading on the phone? Can we create... moreWell, PDF reader is not my favourite application. You need to scroll left and right especially if you can't read small fonts. In 5800 you can't view full screen (i can't find a way to view full screen, correct me if i am wrong) that's annoying as 5800 has large screen. I prefer reading using word reader.
Quick office for viewing documents is free. You just go to download! on the menu and download the application. You need to purchase If you want to upgrade to document editor.

Hey reply to all of u. There is no tv out funtion in recent batch of 5800. Confermed.even i tried it frm buying seperate cable.it doesnt work. Even though its written back of the box that tv out funtion is removed.look it urself.

I contacted Nokia careline.
They confirmed 5800 is manufatured as whole with all features. If the cable not present also the tv out feature is there.On a standard package it should include a tv/out cable if mentioned on the box.

2) you cannot keep camera sounds off
And recently my this mobile is getting switch off automatically..and I have to start again

Can you confirm that tv out option is available in latest 5800. The dealer blindly said not tv/out cable and doesnot support tv/out.
I was thinking of other mobiles because of this.

sai, 24 Sep 2009so by saying it doesn't come out with the TV out only means... morethe TV out works anyway. it doesn't matter if you don't have the cable in your box. you can buy TV out cable and it's very cheap.

but in the phone itself does it still have the icon(menu) for the TV out function? or it can only be activated whenever you connect an AV cable?

First switch ON the bluetooth device & check whether it's founding NEW HARDWARE . Then it will automatically ask for DRIVERS , now choose the path of INF file . Still persists the same problem means check with WIN XP machine .

yes 5800 beats 5530, only one thing is present in 5530 that is not there in 5800 it is kinetic scrolling rest features are there in 5800.

Benx, 23 Sep 2009Dont worry since u already bought it,try to use it for a wh... morehi benx, take care of lg km900 arena,it wins my heart too but finally i found many diadvantages which diappointed me. for Ex: V.v.poor battery life, alot of bugs & crashes. Also, no lens protector. bye

sonu, 23 Sep 2009has nokia withdrawn tv out support from latest nokia 5800 x... moreThe new Nokia 5800XM (at least from Dell) doesn't have the following accessories anymore:
- No rubber slip case
- No TV out CABLE (notice that the TV out function still work. You just have to buy it separately. I bought the cable from ebay and it works just fine)
- No stand
Also, the one from Dell has GREY stripe instead of the common Red & Blue.
