somebody help!! My phone is on v30 nw. The problem is.. I cant send lengthy sms although my phone receives .. Everytime i try, it goes nd stays in the 'outbox' ther's no problem with short sms..

I have been thinking whether to change my product code to a european code and get the firmware updated. I did it for my other phone, which is a nokia E71 coz I was stuck with v200 and there was some bug after I installed some new applications.

Nway, maybe ill try removing evrything then install it again when im fed up with seeing the warning.hehe.. Tnx mate.. V30 is not yet available there in australia? Same here in the philippines.. 5800 users here are stuck with v21.

I updated my firmware to v30 and I must say the improvement is noticeable. I also read that a lot of people are complaining about files going missing and sometimes the phone restarting itself. This is due to the Ram and CPU not being able to run/update the data on the storage chip or memory card quickly enough. The reboot or tempory (hidden) loss of data is actually a security measure. That’s what I have heard from an cellphone technician in South Africa and this increases the duration lifespan of your software from corrupt files and data damage!
Remember this is a phone, not a computer. As with any other phone, it has it's limitations but I do see that Nokia makes the effort to try and fix the bugs with the firmware updates. I also read other of the top10 phones’ comments about their individual phones and I must say those 5800 problems are minor, compared to the other top range phones. We are really getting value for money with the 5800 and not to mention the tons of software, games and apps downloads from Symbian.

-some of my music file disappear, cannot retrieve even using the computer,i format my mcard to repair it,very very very troublesome!!!
-media management is not user friendly,it show everything in your phone in a single window,not by folder you store
-to be a smartphone, its slow...
-internal memory too small

Even if v31 comes out it may take a while to be available for your product code. so I suggest you do the update without waiting for v31. I'm still on v21 and still not even v30 is availabe for my product code.

pogi, 03 Sep 2009hehe.. The package here in the philippines is still complet... moreAh yea even I got the same error message on my E71 sometime back. I couldn't figure out the actual reason. I tried removing the application which were installed in the memory card as well as the installer files. Then installed everything again but didn't copy the installer files. The problem got solved. Try it and let me know mate.
My 5800 was bought in Australia and even I got all the content as well. It must be really disappointing for the newbes to see that their retail packages are empty...I'm surprised by this...

hi i have a query and thought if you could answer.....
if i buy this phone now and it has v10 firmware then should i update it directly to v30...?
will that fix all the bugs that the previous updates fixed or do i update it one version at a time...?
