Guys please answer this question. I'm so desperate to know why the navigation through the menus in the RADIO APPLICATION is slow. Have you experienced this. V21 blue hungary. Please reply.:-)

I am one hell of a Nokia Fan. I always look for the upcoming models, the news, their market strategies and it's really a habit for me checking out all these stuffs about Nokia.
I just bought this phone Nokia 5800 2 weeks ago. Of course, all excitement were seen all over my body since I was already studying its specifications before its conception and when it was just a rumor that was brag by every mobile sites.
But I got dis appointed on my first 2 days with it. I become overwhelmed by the fact that it pack 8GB memory card under its hood that's why I loaded it up with music worth 2GB. After a day or 2, the Music Player started to misplace my songs one by one. The summary time of all songs on Music Player become lower & lower by time. Some are missing, some are corrupted, and all the pre loaded media contents were also gone. I have to master reset it, update the firmaware.
But what I wonder is that why my old Nokia 5700 can read all my music files on its Music Player when I insert my memory card on it?
So, firmware updated, phone reset, memory card formatted...
But still, after loading it again with bulk of songs, it does the same thing again and I have to reformart/checkdisk my memory all over again which is so irrtating. As of this writing, I believe I already reformatted my memory card for almost 10 times now. Also, I am so careful on all memory card transactions so as to prevent read/write failure that causes file corruption. I have to open applications one by one. Say, I will close first my Music Player if I'am going to open File Manager/Gallery. But it's not the way it supposed to be since it's have it's multi tasking functionality which Symbian pioneered on smartphones. I wonder what will happen if I make the most of it's 8GB memory card.
I think there is still software/RAM issues here where this Nokia 5800 can't manage to cope up with a FULLY LOADED 8GB (or more) memory card.
With all of these, I'm still a loyal fan of Nokia. I know, by time, it will get mature & a capable processor/ram can make it through..
I'm now eyeing for the upcoming Nokia X6 for a future replacement for this, or for better, a new generation Nokia N900, I guess. hehe.

its simply the best phone at good price...
the latest version gt no TV OUT PUT the V30 version :(
i need a pouch too... i TV Out n pouch gt removed

it was dated June 29, 2009, when in fact v30 was released just days after that date.
that was the most talked about firmware that nokia will be releasing and people were expecting but instead they released the v30.
but who knows, maybe they will release it in the coming days.
but its already 2 mos since they released the v30 and still no news about v31.
let's cross our finger and hope for the best..

I have had this fone for like one month already and I tried doing that reset thing on my phone right now it become slower especially when i send text. i also dropped this once but fortunately on a carpet so I did not think that's because of that. I don't know but i suggest do not reset your phone if you really don't need to.

Best phone in the world, if it has 5mpx, and lifetime gps would be perfect:-)

i encourage you all to buy this phone..i really love the sound and cam..actually i have 5 cellphones,and 5800 is the best one..i'm planning to buy more of it and give it to my love ones and all the people in claro m.recto..ehe..

actually it's not a waste a money..it is a great phone..from what brand that you can buy a full touch screen phone,wifi ready,and has a carlzeis cam with the affordable amount..if you're having trouble regarding of your files being lost..that was the 1st version..you just have to update it to v21..that's it..it is really a good phone..
