Had upgraded to the latest FM version V30.. After which started facing issues with performance of applications and had to try the same old reboot method of removing memory card to resolve the issue. However after hard reset of the phone...all works fine...To hard reset (just dial in *#7370# and then put in the security code 12345)...however do back up all your data and setttings onto the memory card before you try this and you can restore it afterwards...

KceeGee, 04 Aug 2009Oh... And by the way... If you have any other mobile pho... moreMy standards are pretty high I guess...
My previous phone, a SE W760i would last at least five days on a single charge, sometimes even a whole week. Yeah, it wasn't as powerful or feature-rich as this one but it was also a GPS, multimedia phone with an accelerometer & stuff like that and I tortured it mercilessly. The 5800 on the other hand, even with all the unnecessary features like 3G, Bluetooth, aGPS etc. turned off and stuff like screen brightness set to the lowest level I get 2,5 - 3 days at most, and that whilst not even doing much with it, on a week-old phone. I imagine in half a year or so I'll struggle to get more than a day out of it and having to plug it in every night doesn't seem too appealing to me.
Almost every other aspect of the phone is absolutely brilliant but the battery really isn't up to standard.

It's just beyond me how someone can be so over the moon with it, unless of course your previous phone wouldn't work at all without a charger cord up it's arse...

            @kceegee

dude.. nice to hear those great feedbacks about the 5800! im loving this phone too!! its just plain AWESOME!! never had any problems with this phone..

i really like the battery life.. ive reach 5 days of heavy texting without playing music or videos (when i say heavy i mean about 300 messages each day)

and about your volume problem on the earphones... i think it sometimes have to be on the song file itself, because i noticed that one also.. what i did was convert all my songs and making the volume louder using a free converter.. try it

If you have any other mobile phone in mind that can outlast all that abuse and last me atleast 3-4 days, a touchscreen and have a good music playback, then please, by all means, do share it. I may want to take a look at that mobile and eventually buy it.

              Looking forward for your reply.

Vass, 04 Aug 2009If you think the fact that the phone lasts at most two days... moreSomething wrong with me?

Hmm... I use it to listen to music non-stop for the duration of my shift, that's 9 hours. I listen to music non-stop on my way to work, that's about 2 hours back and forth, 9 + 2 = 11hours of music listening. so in 2 days, its 22 hours of straight music.

When I get home, I use it to send messages, synce files and music via my laptop, check my facebook, blog and e-mail via 3.5G, then listen to a few bit of music using the loudspeaker.

With all that abuse and it lasts me two full days and further EFFORT to drain the battery on the 2nd night by watching videos on it.

I would say it's pretty awesome.

Then again, if you will not agree, I won't say there's anything wrong with you. Because bashing other's opinions, specially if you do not have any facts to back you up, is considered pretty rude.

                    right?

The price of Nokia 5800 has been slashed in India. The current price is 16500/- rupees down from 19200/- rupees. This would mean 5530 xpress would be available somewhere between 12k-13k rupees.

creepy.chan, 03 Aug 2009hey pinoys out there..can anyone tell me if the version 30 ... moreyup, got same response via NSU and OTA, only v21. i was hopin to get v30 thru NSU or OTA but to no avail, NYAAR!

i even went to nokia care greenhills to have mine updated but when i arrived there they said that v30 firmware is not yet for release for 5800 units sold in the Philippines (a.k.a. 5800-d) i guess "d" stands for "default" accdg to d nokia customer agent. i asked em y dey didnt informed me in advance when i inquired over d phone prior my visit that dey have v30 but it is not yet officially for release.

what dey hav then was only v21 too. well, great. good thing was dey were able to restore all d license keys of all preloaded contents (videos and songs). i lost d license keys when i updated OTA to v21. restoring my full backup from my microSDHC and PC suite didn't work. i guess only nokia care centers can restore em back =)
