The only way out is to flash your phone with any custom firmware made for 5800. There are many unofficial developers who make custom firmwares for our device. I tried with a custom firmware named Krystal^1.5 and found to be the best. Better touch speed, Kinetic scrolling, camera shutter sound off when we activate silent profile and many more great features.
I repeat: this is not an official firmware. So use it at your own will/risk.

Also it has widget homescreen like of C6 or N97 phones. Really an awesome firmware.
Dont blame me for anything. I just share my experience. This piece of information I got after googling and I am much satisfied with this custom firmware rather with those Official firmware.

Anyway, I've tried to use another network provider to know what's the latest updates to my 5800 but it always prompted "No Updates Available" :( I just want to try updating via FOTA, it is much easier than using computer coz I don't always have spare time but unfortunately, my phone don't allow me to do that. Lol. @_@

Hmm.. Can you teach me how to d... moreOkay first install nokia suite from nokia's site and it will ask you to connect your device and it will tell you the latest software version just plug the phone and it will tell you everything.
In the new firmware its just the browser change which is important v52 is also good. Do try it.
Any more help i will be glad as i am on gsmarena most of the time.

Hi! Can anyone help me how to upgrade my 5800 v21 to v60 via FOTA? Everytime I request to update my firmware, it says "There's no available updates", something like that. I am from the Philippines and my network provider is Globe. I would be so much grateful if someone can assist me with this. Thank you in advance.

Ihave 5800 XpressMusic, one day all the functions stopped sudenly. My dad took it to Nokia workshop, they said motherboard is out of order. They will not repair it, only replace the MB, it will cost about half of the amount of new one. Anybody can advise a resonable method for repair.

Dila, 18 Nov 2011I have nokia n73.but i hope 2 buy a nokia 5800.so nokia 580... moreDIfference between N73 and 5800: 5800 hav Touch screen, wi-fi, GPS in addition to N73. And hav all the features of N73. Music player is comparable. camera is better in N73 than 5800. All other things are almost identical. On the whole it is a great phone(with 8GB Micro-sd card) in this price point. Go ahead. awaiting ur reply....
