Firmware is the software of the phone. It's the Operation System of your cell. Like Windows is for your Computer.
Version 3.45 is the latest. You must go to an official Nokia Service Center to flash it on your 6111. You cannot do it by yourself!

Can someone please post firmware v3.45 online (or email it to me) with instructions on how to load it please. I would dearly like to upgrade my firmware.

firmware is the initial software settings for every set....people luk for latest firmware to upgrade their software settings

i bought one of these phones and i loved the way it looked but i didnt really like the way it functioned. It is poorly made and it feels like it will break at any time so i was very careful with it. When i used the 6111, the slider would make this crunching noise when opening/closing (maybe the tearing of the ribbon??).I was VERY worried about the ribbon connector snapping so I bought the Samsung d500 instead. I am VERY pleased w/ the samsung. it's more durable and i have peace of mind that the screen won't go white! i wish it had an FM radio though!!! the samsung has more options and it's easier to use.

ok i've checked my phone and the firmware's v3.45 but i still can't change my font size for messenging. any solutions?

Piece of crap! Had mine for approx 2 months, last week, the slider ribbon finally ripped and now i have nothing but a blank white screen, can rcv and make calls, but can't see what i'm dialling or who i'm getting calls from. Gonna send it in to get svcd, but not bothered if i don't get it back, it was only temporary till the N80 came out! It's fine if u want basic mobile features, but loads of other phones have better features. Like i said though, fine for a basic phone. I've been an avid nokia user since 1996, and only used a sony ericsson once within that time, seriously Nokia, u've got to stop with only doing half a job! I'm really starting to think about trying other brands!

I am intending to buy Nokia 6111. But am wondering if the camera function is good. Can any existing user please advise if the picture taken is nice? Is the flashlight of help?

Bought mine in white V3.45 from a Nokia Shop in Bangkok. I wanted the smallest and lightest phone available, this one is great.
Better in every aspect than my old 6230, but I miss the memory card though. No bug at all and great battery life (4 days). Don't understand why some people are complaining about...

*claps* Well it is a brill phone got mines in pink it is gorg had no problems so anyone that says its crap and it breaks within the first three days r wrong they prob dont want anyone else to try out nokias best eva creation. I feel sorry for the other phones they should be in the dump as nokia should bring out newer and newer versions of this.

Finally I've got my Nokia 6111 Silver Grey Firmware 3.45!
I've been waiting since Nokia announced it in june 2005. I've read bad stuff abouth this phone. But It's a awesome gadget. Really small, light and Silver Grey is a cool color, without fingerprints!
The slide works great and menus are fast. The downside is the internal call-speaker. It's not that loud on max volume. However the phone-speaker is very loud and nice quality for listening mp3 and watch videos!
Nokia has delayed this 6111 it was supposed to be released in sept 2005. In some countries it was released in nov/dec 2005. Those are the first shipments and I think with some hard/software bugs (FW 3.41).
It's now (February 2006) at last available in The Netherlands in all colors. I think Nokia has made some adjustments for final release. So if you got the standard Firmware 3.45 you've got a better version as in the hard and software!

I can't understand why all the people have so many problems with this phone.
I bought mine a few days ago and it works out just fine,no problems at all.
the slide works great,and no problems with the software....
version V3.45
sound is great,and the battery life is good.
