got my nokia 6111 for xmas and have been rly pleased with it up until now. all of a sudden i got a message saying 'sim registration failed' and it will not let me make calls or send texts. its not a problem with the sim as it works fine in other phones. can any1 help or should i just send the phone back to nokia for repair? thanks

Well in The Netherlands it was planned to be released 2 weeks ago, but Nokia recalled all the 6111 due to bugs The Phonehouse Netherlands said this to me!
It might be sold begin february. But some shops are selling a few but very hard to get. And only in Black. I think if you buy the silver or pink version you might have got a better version. Because these colors are not available yet, or hardly to get!!

Well I bit the bullet and bought a black one. I compared to the LG and the 6111 was just so nice to hold.
Mind you the woman in the shop had informed me she had had 4 back with faults, so they had tested the rest of their stock, and this one seemed ok.

You are right the black is a lot nicer than I thought it would be. I am wondering whether to cancel my pink one.

Apparently, that was the problem with the other 4 in the shop. I think it must be random.

Touch wood, mine charged ok and I have had it on for 1 hour without any battery loss so far, but will keep you posted.
Anyone found any nice free themes?

I love the nokia 6111 and had my eye on it for months. Its a great phone.........when it works!!!!!
Here are the faults i have had with mine.
Got one of first ones on the day it was launched.
Worked fine for 3 weeks then keypad wouldn't dial normal numbers. It kept going straight to shortcuts eg 0 to wap and 1 to voicemail.
I took it to O2 shop and they said I had changed settings. I new I hadn't! As they had no members of staff trained on the 6111 they sent me to ask the on-site Nokia engineer in "carphone warehouse". He immediatley said it was a fault with the firmware. I rang O2 and they sent me another one out within 4 days.
Got my new phone on Tues and opened the box. Didnt even put sim or battery in because when I slid the phone up the slider was catching on the keys on the left of the pad and grinding the numbers. Not good!
I rang O2 straightback and they tried to talk me into a different phone saying they had had alot of these back. I just said no and will go for one more Nokia 6111 and hope for the best.
If the 3rd one is faulted I guess I will go for another handset. Maybe I'm just unlucky!
Just to add - O2 said they will refund me for everyday I have been without my handset.

So I'm due a free upgrade and fancy the look of the 6111. Been on numerous sites and hearing some good/eports. O2 have told me they are waiting for new stock so will this fix the problems? Anyone have problems with the sliding mechanism, does it get very loose?? Please advise b4 I sign up for my 18 month contract!!!

John - What was the battery like after the first 2 weeks that you mentioned? So far since its second charge mine has lasted 3 days and is only now showing half a battery which is good. What do other people get for charge on this phone?
Wolves - I too was the same about getting the pink one but couldn't wait so got the black one instead and i absolutely love it. It still looks really sleek and stylish!

just got 2nd replacement 6111 from O2. Have to send this one back as well. Phone will not turn on (same fault as first)
Anyone having same problems?

I upgraded from to the Nokia 6111 and received it yesterday and charged it for 12 hours! To my disappointment after only 30 minutes of use today, the phone doesnt work any more. When i try to turn it off it asks for the pin code and then turns its self off. I am really disappointed!!

Oops - meant Tuesday 17th.
Dunno if this is a completely new and improved batch - hope so though.
I've got a 6170 at the moment which is pretty good and hope the 6111 matches it.

Despite reading the not so favourable comments on this phone, I'm still considering opting for it for my upgrade. I'm getting it free of charge so not overly worried.
However, just out of curiosity, as a texter I'm curios to know how many it holds........

Thanks Nokia, you guys are lucky.
I have found out today that the Pink N6111 isnt due in UK until March.
Carphone Warehouse has exclusive rights on the pink one and they have informed me today that Nokia have informed them the pink one will be delayed until March, and they havent been able to even give any date on the silver one.
Looks like I will be buy the black one cos I cant wait till March.
May even buy the LG S5200 instead.

I ordered the Silver Grey color so i've to wait a bit longer :-(
I think the BENELUX-countries are the last countries where the phone is now available. I hope the have adjusted some hardware-bugs. The Software will be same V 3.41 I think.

this fone is quite stylish n sellable but bout the memory inside is too small to put in anything s specially mp3 n images.it's even better if the camera is 2mp. unlucky tis fone is not os symbian...

Since Nokia 6111 hasn't had a memory card, i wonder how many pictures can we take before we need to transfer the pictures to our laptop?
