Just brought 6131 two days ago it is so useful and i got no problem witn it at all.
You can adjust the "Font Size" bigger as you like: go to the settings and look for the "Main Display" you will see the Font....it is also very easy to use and light.

well i have stored about 550 contacts in my phone book and it says its 45% used with 55% free. So I would guess about 1000. I dont use address features in the phone book - just numbers, email addresses and sometimes job titles.

Taking my 5th model back tomorrow because its so quiet. If i am walking down the street i struggle to hear anything on it (during calls). Also its been switching itself off, and a message in sent items won't delete and brings up errors when i try to delete it. I would put up with it if the sound was loud enough. But if i walk along the street i cant hear the person on the other end hardly at all!

am very happy with the phone. i can use the music player to listen Qur'an recitation while reading the Arabic text using another application. I have no regrets giving my Samsung d500 as a hand-me-down to my daughter.

I also find Nokia 6131's sound louder and clearer than the D500's. It's just that if one is using the right hand, the bottom part of the palm sort of blocks the speakers - just a minor hitch, of course.

I have bought the nokia 6131 yesterday, however I have a small request to ask to anyone. Actually I have a problem with french dictionary. Usually a message consist of 160 caracters. However in this one, if any french message contains accents like ç, even 1 of these caracters only, the maximum letters for 1 message becomes 80, after this it is sent in 2 parts which becomes quite credit consuming. I have never face this problem with any previous nokia or other phones no matter how many accents i put.Anyone, Can you verify this and inform me please. Thank you...

Having previously had a SE k700i, there are a few things that i miss.
                          1. No quick delete button (c button on SE)
                          2. Can select to send a text message with one button press to a contact from the phonebook. It takes a few button presses from nokia.
                          3. With the SE you can flick between camera and video mode with a tap of the joystick.
                          4. No browsing available on the nokia bluetooth. On SE i could see files on my computer or another device and pick what I want. You can only send or receive on the Nokia, there is no ability to browse files.
                          5. The SE profiles allow you to manage calls through the profile you select.

The Nokia has its own advantages though. It will be a hard decision as to whether I keep it.

May I know if the messages in thhe phone can be saved in the memory card instead of the phone memory? If I didn't get it wrong, 6280 hasn't got the function to change the memory in use..

                              Thanks for the help..

Excellent Phone! Guess all those who encounter problems with software or battery charging got a faulty set. Mine so far (for 3weeks) has got no problem.

This is one of the best clamshell phone with a big and responsive keypad, generous and sharp screen (320 x 240 pixel). Put it side by side with nokia 6280 and you will notice they're the same size. External screen thought look small actually got the same pixel count as my older nokia 6111 (128 x 160).

Sound output is excellent! It's louder and clearer (without the mono distintive sharpness produce by W800i's which is a pain to the ear) than even my previous 6230. But mind you, this is still a mobile phone, so you can't expect it to perform better than your home stereo. Music lover should also be delighted that the sound produce by the provided headset sound decent and radio reception is good too! :-)

One thing i like about this phone is the automatic voice command system. Any names and even function stored in the phone comes active with voice without manually record on your own. I'm even more impressed that it supports chinese 'pin yin' pronunciation!

I'm recycling my battery and desktop charger from my previous 6100 cos they're the same.

Battery life is average, 2 full days with 3 hours of radio/mp3 playback from headset, about 20sms'es and 45mins of call time usage.

For those complaining that standby time is low, pls switch the external screen saver to digital clock and the internal one off, turn on power saver for both the screen. Only charge the battery when it's left with 1 bar shown on phone. That should do the trick. :-)
