Of course it plays AAC. Mine does.
I finally bought another phone to replace this king, a Nokia 6682 (6681 with 850 band)with S60 but I miss the speed of my old 6230. I still keep my 6230 and like OJ almost everyday I rate it at max cause it deserves it

Still love and rate this phone to the max.
I still have mines and would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it to anybody.
This phone has no limits. Accept any frame rate, any video quality, 512kbps or higher. No matter how much I maxed videos or audio qualities, I never ever noticed a slow down in performance.
This phone is a true example of a king.

Even though I have the new 6300 I prefer certain things with the 6230, for example entering contacts which is quicker and better in more ways than one when doing it on the 6230. Nokia wanted the 6300 to have a different feel in every department and this they have achieved, many of the changes are welcomed.

To LUIS:
You can transfer your contacts from PC to phone by using Nokia PC Suite. Just click on Contents or Backup and Restore (whatever your version of PC Suite calls it). It's the first icon.
When you flash your phone all the factory contents are reinstalled from the flash software. The only thing you will lose is your personal stuff like contacts, text messages, calendar notes, notepad notes, internet settings and sometimes you lose photos, videos etc. It's a big risk to leave anything on your phone when you are going to have it flash. BACKUP FIRST!!!

OJ:
How can I transfer my contacts from PC to my phone??
In other theme, you said to Naglia that if you update the firmware all data is lost. It´s the same for the factory stuff like ringtones and preloaded images includeed in the phone??

To NAGLIA:
YES, you WILL lose EVERYTHING when you change the Operating System version so please backup your entire phone contents. You will need a DKU-2 or CA-53 data cable for PC connectivity and you will also need to install Nokia PC Suite in order to backup your phone.
I'm always here for you if you need help
P.S. You are a female right ?

To NAGLIA:
I never bothered with the 6230i because it's predecessor was faster overall and turned out to be the best buy in the long run.
The main reason why the 6230i is slower is because of the increased screen resolution from 128x128 to 208x208. A higher resolution means more time to redraw images hence the need for a faster processor...unfortunately to keep down cost Nokia decided to stick with the same processor as the original 6230.
Some people have said that they are firmware which boosts the speed of 6230i. The first time I held a 6230i in my hands it was quicker than I expected. I checked the firmware and it had v3.62. NAGLIA, if your phone doesn't have that version you can try and get it upgraded to it...or even a later one.
Please check and tell me the version firmware that your 6230i uses and tell me. You can check by typing *#0000# in standby mode....that is, the screen where you see the reception and battery indicators.
Hope my advice helps you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
P.S. I still have my 6230 (smile).
