          Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me solving a little problem with my 6230! When I want to transfer mp3 from my PC to the phone (via bluetooth) it stores the mp3 directly to the phones memory and doesn't give me the option to save them on the MMC! I can't even move them later to the MMC!
          Any advice?!
          Thanks

            To DICEKEI:

I can't dispute what others have said in regards to a 2GB MMC overheating if used in the 6230. I have heard that it will work and I honestly believe it will work without problems. Another opinionist said a friend of theirs who work at a Nokia Care Centre, said v5.24 and higher, can read up to 2GB...which I honestly believe. Don't let me persuade you though, follow your mind.

A dual voltage RS-MMC should work perfectly well with your phone. Stop fretting and store your memories on a 2GB MMC (smile).

                To DICEKEI:

Once you have v5.24 or later your 6230 should handle a 2GB MMC or RS-MMC without any problems.

                    To AARON:

At first you said that you had v4.43, now you say that your friend checked your phone and it says v5.24. Which one was it originally, v4.43 or v5.24 ?

when i try to do so, i get the prompt: "failed to save received connection settings".

Guys! Been using this little dynamite for 3 years and recently bought a N73 for the wife. So i thought why don't i get something new for myself. Thought about the E50. Then i saw this site and all the comments and advice and stuff. Went down the mall and got my phone upgraded for the first time. Its now on 5.50. What an awesome move! My message alert was before faulty - sometime off and sometime on. Its now working ok (so far) and the speed and some of the changes are great. The options available during writing a sms message are wonderful. I think i'm going to stick to my old 6230 and save myself a few hundred bucks! Note: one glitch, tho..now all of a sudden my MMS card has a password and i don't know what it is! But what the heck, I'll just change it to a new higher one! Go 6230 go!

                            To AARON:

                            R E A D T H I S V E R Y C A R E F U L L Y.

Your phone can read a 1GB MMC. However, you need to have firmware v5.24 or later to see the correct statistics for your memory card which includes capacity, used and free space.

If you have a firmware older than 5.24, whenever you check the memory size, you will see something like 80MB but you can ignore that because you can store stuff on the card going over that 80MB all the way up to 1GB. You just WON'T know how much capacity is really being used.

Firmwares 5.24, 5.26. 5.35 and 5.50 shows the correct capacity, used and free space. As I said before in previous posts, firmware 5.50 is the latest.

I have a 1GB memory card and with my 5.24, the phone tells me that the total capacity is 991.2MB (which is normal due to file system etc.). I have a Transcend 1GB.

So AARON, forget 256 & 512MB and go with a 1GB, you will enjoy the freedom of space. Let me know what '1GB MMC' you decided to purchase and tell me what you think about it. Take care until next time.

                                        To AARONBOY:

If you do decide to flash your phone I recommend firmware version 5.24, I love it and want no other. However, you can also go with 5.35 or 5.50 if you feel comfortable having the very latest version. AVOID 5.26, I have heard a few complaints and we can't afford to tolerate errors when we expect important calls, especially from that new girl or business opportunity (smile).
