Hey Yunus, don't worry about breaking the cover. The original cover is really strong. Just remember to take off the rear cover BEFORE the front cover.

To remove the rear cover, grasp the phone on your palm with the rear side facing you. Make sure that none of your finger is touching the rear panel. Then just press the button on the rear and push upwards simultenuously.

For the front cover, slit you nail at the ONE side of the cover from the top. Move your nail to the bottom... somwhere aligned at keypad number 1 and 3, there are the locking mechanism. Just force your nail to go thru that part. Repeat the same for the other side. And you'll have a naked 6230.

ya the panel is changeable, so u can remove both rear & front covers & clean the dust.

& as far as 512 mb mmc is concerned, i just gave my 256 mb card for a new 512, although i was a bit afraid but the 512 card i8s working rally fine, i 'v stored almost 110 mp3 tracks in it. the only problem that i had is that it does not shows the proper memory allocation, i mean on my phone the card size is shown as 80 mb but i can use 489 mb of memory space on my mmc. so there's no problem.
Another thing as i have 110 mp3 tracks, so whenever i switch on my phone on turn on the 'Music Player' it takes almost 30 secs to read all the tracks.
                But i m just satisfied.!!!!

andy, if you have enough $$$, get the 512Mb card. Trust me. Just make sure it's a good memory card. Just like my previous post - i have personal experience that a cheap 256Mb gave a very, very bad performance - nothing to do with the phone, but my good 512Mb card gave lightning quick responses. Buy yourself a card-reader too, if you're a music lover or multimedia junkie, you'll not regret it.

My phone uses 512Mb RS MMC (with adapter, of course) from Apacer. It works fine. I had no problems at all. Then again, my phone is running on firmware ver 5.35.

My wife's phone is running on 256Mb MMC - a cheap brand - so, there's a noticeable lag whenever the card is assessed.

So, in conclusion. Yes, 512 is supported. And the performance really depends on the quality of the card. Not so much on the phone.

So, my take is - get a good brand of memory card. Don't buy the cheap ones (like I did for my wife)...

I'll buy a nokia once they start making quad band phones. This really looks like a great phone but why can't they throw in the extra band? I'm gonna have to buy a moto becuase they have quad band even though I'd like to be able to buy a nokia.

Andy, no problem. I'll try to help out in whichever way I could.

Bob, nope, the 6230 camera does not have zoom (but even if it does, i will never use 'digital zoom' feature - i'm still waiting for a day when there's 'optical zoom' from a mobile phone). But it can zoom a picture during playback.
