The display covers an area of 9.00 cm2 ie nine centimeter square. The Nokia 6230i does not run on the Symbian Operating system so no question about the version. Peace.

My boyfriend has this phone and there is nothing wrong with it! the coversations are very clear!

because the phone echos when your in calls i hear my voice being thrown back at me. thats why its rubish

It IS the best phone ever. Has everything!!! BIG INTERNAL MEMORY...great phone. Tried them all from Siemens to Sagem to SE, NOKIA 6230i NOT 6230

I used many nokia model before. This is best model now.It's have almost everyting i need.
Can be connect thru IR and Bluetooth.

hey guys! just bought this phone... i m not sure if i do like it. but i dont hate it. my previous phone is the 6230.
one thing that bugs me is the ring tone volume. its softer than the 6230 with the same setting...
it can be slow. perhaps due to more functions on the phone.
as for camera..... i think its not a phone for it. my sis has the SE 750i, it has a bigger and better screen (more colors) and the camera on that phone is a lot better.
then again i do like nokia user interface. its very user friendly.
but i do like some of the features of 6230i, which was not featured on my previous phone. for example you can choose font colors. now even with a black wall paper you can still see the font if you set it to say white.
i think i will wait till a better firmware b4 i will upgrade it.

hei i'm from EGYPT and i think if there was an award for the best mobile in the decade, the nokia 6230i would get it nice and easy.

hi,got the 6230i and the battery really improves after a few weeks.SORRY NOKIA for my earlier post here.anyway is it possible to play avi files on this phone or there any java based avi players??and this phone REALLY ROCKS

To upgrade your firmware, just take it to the nearest Nokia Center. It should not be more than 20mins. In M'sia, free upgrade for < 1yr old Zitron/Avaxx set but RM30 for AP set.

hey christine - u finally bought the 6230i? get yourself a DKU-5 cable (i use the non-Nokia brand for less than RM20 thru lelong.com.my - it works the same) and make yr phone a thumb-drive (provided u have a memory card). Very easy to manage your files - just drag and drop.

I've 3.30 soft version,the latest here in Romania,according to NOKIA. I've 1 problem:MMS!Only amr files are accepted.WHY!?6230 was OK!

Hi Vlad, sure u have tested "NO" problem with V3.40, even the sick acsending ringtone, lines when pw on etc?
If really so, than sure all fans will go for it...

this phone not support real player and not support mp4 audio and not support sis files cause the software is not symbian it is nokia 40 series

Sophie i totally agree with you i always hear a echo on my 6230i when i'm talking on it. It is definately the phone not the network because this only happens on the 6230i phone and my friend has a 6230i as well and he says his echos. We both are on t-mobile. I tried my t-mobile sim in my old old 8210 and i heard no echoing at all when in calls so its safe to say there is a fault with the 6230i. Infact i was reading a review of the older 6230 at cnet and they also reported echoing on the 6230 so it looks like the 6230i inherited the unfortunate echoing from the 6230 when NOKIA "revved up the features inside"

I have test and found that no matter your mp3 song is stereo, the music coming to your head set is mono! both ears are same.
I have connect to laptop and checking signal from both ear of head set and signal are mix. Not stereo as the origin mp3 song.!

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade the firmware of my phone? Can I do it myself or I have to take it to my retailer??
