my version is 3.40, made in hungary in may 2005. so i am very happy! no prb till now, nice features and still the battery last for aprox. 3 days, without heavy usage....
i reccomend it. :)

It is not echo from the phone , here in romania we often have this problem , the phone are listent by the secret services ! i tell you this because i have someone there. Now i have buyed my Nokia 6230i ! :D very beautifull and nice :D I like it allot ! I don't know from where to have software ! Real Player Media :( pleasee tell me ;)

does anyone know how to stop the 6230i from echoing when your in a call? i keep hearing my voice when i talk on the phone its begining to get on my nerves.

overall a fantastic phone. just a problem i noticed - reboots while visiting some (mostly https) websites.
i have 3.30 right since purchase.
the nokia's builtin Email Client is having problem, could retrieve my pop3 email well...but gives error while sending or saving/draft...
can any1 tell me abt a Free email client (pop3) for 6230i - should also support secured pop3/smtp (for gmail.com account)

Visual radio is the feature that gives you the opportunity to see through details of the station that you are currently listening to, information on the song etc. But many countries have no support for visual radio so your phone doesn't respond to it.
Again this phone is tested for MMC upto 512MB so using a MMC more than that can slow your phone down and thus performance is compromised. In one of my previous posts I mentioned about this and that I tested my handset with a 1GB MMC but the results were not good eg. frequent shutdowns etc. So please dont use MMCs more than 512MB if you want your phone to perform perfectly. Enjoy.

I have been using this phone for a month now. When I was about to buy the phone, there were much talk about the ringtone & the firmware issues. Even then I decided to go for the phone as I had quite liked the features of the phone when I went thru the reviews.
The + es according to me
1. Display is very good, though the screen size is small compared to other phones.
2. Sound quality is good (though k750i beats it a long way). Still very good quality for mp3s & AACs (on the flip side, bass is lacking in the sound, but c'mon, this is a phone)
3. As always the lovely nokia Menu system
4. Small in size( smaller than the samsung c100 i used earlier)
5. Expandable memory - I am using a 1 GB MMC
6. Phone is loaded with most of the features that one will look out for
7. Reception quality is good.
8. Camera quality is also good (but not anywhere as good as k750)

1. The phone is a little slow in responding, especially since I put the MMC in it
2. No SMS distribution list (which is a basic feature & a must according to me )
3. The screen size could have been bigger, but not much complaints..
4. mp3 volume even at maximum level is not that high. A little bit on the lower side..
All in all, so far so good.

i think this fone is kella.....i personlly own 1 and have had no probs wit it as yet. 1 thing i wnt to know is how to get visual radio working?? does ne1 know???

Yes when the phone's memory is getting heavy, the menu's navigation is a bit laggy.
But not as long as 2seconds between each touch.
It's just a bit slower, but slow enough to annoy :/

i.ve heard that nokia 6230i has a big problem.when u switch options on the menu list,the phone has a strange delay (like2 sec). it's true? i rly need 2 know that...w8-ing your posts 10x

It seems that theere is that function.
Is it possible to use Nokia PC suite with a card reader ?

yeah i like this phone too - got it at the beginning of the month by extending my contract. :) if you search for "lame mp3" in google you'll find a zillion tools for recompressing mp3s. for this phone 64 kbit/s is fine and the files will be half the size of a "normal" mp3. hope that helps

I bellive that nokia 6230i is the mobile from nokia , excepting 8800 :P . In 4 hours i will go to buy one ;) Great phone ! U must have it , specialy if you have and DVD with softwares and stuff for this phone. Good luck !

Ive got nokia 6230i few days back. My papa gave me present on passing exams. nokia 6230i is best. can anyone tell me that how to compress mp3 songs? i wana isnatll that software, because real player files r very short in size and mp3 files r very big and real player files cant open in 6230i :( and i have huge collection of songs in real format.

so far,this is the best phone yet. for people who are dissapointed with battery life, well... you should. cus you can't get your hands off your phone. doesn't that make you wonder why??? EVERYTHING is in this tiny phone which makes it the best. fits your pocket perfectly unlike big phones which looks like you have a second "thing" down there... k750i is good but limited contact to 500 peeps. well, i guess they don't have a lot of friends...
