        Nokia 6233 Known issues

        Neither brightness nor duration of the display backlight are adjustable -

        after 10 seconds the display goes dark until you press a key again

        The phone has been known to restart by itself automatically while performing a task, for example when viewing a video in fullscreen or playing music.

        Users are complaining that the maximum contact entries of 500 is not sufficient.

        Earlier Nokia models support up to 1000 contacts and it is unknown why the Nokia 6233 has this limitation.

        Images taken with the built-in digital camera sometimes contains dead pixels. Red pixels can be seen on the same spot for all photos taken.

        When contacts Name display is set to Last name first the order is corrupted after the phone is powered up. Contacts are not sorted and go missing as you scroll through the contacts list. Only by reselecting the setting Last name first after each time the phone is powered up will the order and contacts be restored.

        Phone will sometimes lose signal, the only way to reconnect to the network is to power cycle.

        No Camera Shutter cover, so dust particles will affect camera quality..thats all

            atanas2d,

            Its good to see that you know the Features of the phone that you want:
            1. ease of use and user-friendliness (perfect keypad is important)
            2. well developed organize features and mainly business features
            3. good large enough display
            4. decent multimedia
            5. DURABILITY AND ROBUSTNESS!

            Your question: "if you have a chance to change your Nokia 6233 for Nokia E50 smartphone - would you ???"

            My Answer: NO

            Because:
            1. Its not a 3G phone. as i've said, here in the Philippines, Having a 3g phone is becoming a necessity.

            2. Camera is only 1.3 MP.

            3. Its not a music phone. With 6233 you get a media phone + a business phone (or some of its features) in one.

            4. According to the review at 3gsm, here are its main disadvantages:
            * coarse joystick
            * no 3G
            * Switch On/Off button made badly
            * poor video recording

            The next phone i'll be getting should be something similar to the 6233 with these stuff added:
            1. Front cam
            2. Wifi ready
            3. Higher camera zoom (not mega pixels. I'f i want better mega pixels i think i should buy a video cam =P )
            4. camera Flash

            Nokia could put these features on a 6233 upgrade.. name it 6233i or 6235. When that happens, this will be the only phone you'll ever need.

            Btw, For me.. (again this is my opinion) the 6233 has the perfect keypad. Its soft, easy to use, responds quickly... nice.

              MiGs,
              I browsed your blog about your Nokia6233 and I'm pretty impressed. As I can see you are quite familiar with mobile phones, so please tell me:

              - if you have a chance to change your Nokia 6233 for Nokia E50 smartphone - would you ??? (having in mind contraversial joystick, slower UI, thinner fonts and quite worse media capabilities in E50, but ofcourse the last Symbian OS bussiness functions and thinner body size of the phone)

              I'm asking you as a heavy user of N6233, becouse I'm planning to bye one of theese.

              I'm looking for: ease of use and user-friendliness (perfect keypad is important), well develloped organize features and mainly bussiness features, good large enough display, decent multimedia and non at least DURABILITY AND ROBUSTNESS!

              Thank you!

                      This phone is gr8 even though it dont have any special music software like walkman phones the sound from headset is very good and has excellent bass effect the music output is gr8 from both speakers and headsets however i find problem only with camera pics are not good in low light condition but video on the other hand is good in any condition the walkman phones can beat this only in terms of camera but only camera nothing else

                        nikos1400,

                        if you bought your phone from an authorized nokia dealer then it should be covered by a warranty. That would include repairs and upgrades of the unit. So just bring it to a nokia service center and have the firmware upgraded with no cost.

                        =====================
                        The difference between a walkman phone and a music phone?

                        Hmmm.... I THINK:
                        1. A walkman phone is built to be used with an earphone. so better sound quality when you plug it to your ears.. after sometime you become deaf. hahahhaha

                        2. Like what 786 said, The battery life. I think wlakman phones are built to last longer use.

                        But actually... i believe that mobile companies just try to find synonyms for those the titles that other companies put on their products.. if one has a walkman phone.. thge other would name thier product music phone.. another company could name their product radio phone.

                          there is a big difference on the battery on these Nokia phones the SE Walkmans last much longer for music..Nokias dont - thats a big diffeerence with these and walkman phones

                            there is no difference between this and a Walkman SE the only difference is the music player on walkmans its difference got the playlist but so has 6233 and most walkmans sort out songs in albums,artists,tracks, etc but most of the new Nokias do that now so i see NO point in buying a Walkman phone there practically USELESS!

                                well ph is perfect. but main drawbak of dis ph is, its not symbian set. so nokia mus should make Nokia 6233 wid symbian facility, then i'll buy it ;-)

                                  Bluetooth broken?
                                  Bluetooth was working fine, but now phone won't pair. The Nokia 6233 phone can't find active devices, yet those devices can find the phone? Is the bluetooth only in send mode? Id there a way to turn receive back on?

                                    Mokia 6233 on/off button breaks really easy, but I found over the last twenty years that Nokia phones have nasty habit of not being robust and after a year usually something will break.
                                    I get reaaly annoyed that something that cost so much can be so poorly made.

                                        What's the difference between a Walkman phone and a music phone (MP3 player)? Does the Walkman have more features?
