Raj - The random video dialling is a bug, nothing you're doing. Something else we have to wait for Nokia to fix.

    Hi Roger,
Small issue, ..each time i use the speed dial feature, it automatically dials as a video call & then gives me a message "Video call not supported by the network". ..any way to make the default call , ..a voice call.

easy to use phone even for a 58yr old dinosaur I was looking for a phone with a decent loudspeaker built in, as I spend a lot of time on the road and this is proving to be more than adequate as a hands free phone

To Imran - Dont worry with messages. I have saved more than 200 msg on my (saved messages) folder. In this folder u can creat your own and keep your messages. The voice quality is very good, but not loud enought (miss my old Nokia 2100).

Thanks Roger. will check with my service provider. The problem is that it shows the number, but does not connect it to phone memory where that number is connected to a name or a group. I made sure each number is attached to only one name. Anyway, thxs again...

                  To Bayani,

FYI: Upgrade means getting something better than what you had before. I think it's monetary more than the price. Pls. take note that w810i is not 3g while 6233 is. That, is one upgrade already. Something more expensive, doesn't automatically mean that it's better.

                        Hey All,
Having had the phone back for the weekend, I have a bit more info to share with you lot.
Well, the battery is brand new, so I'm having to condition it - I got it on sat 9am and it just died on me, 6pm on mon - 2 and a half days, intensive use. Not bad so far.
Also I got a 1gb card on it, with about 700mb of music, and it plays well. There is enough space left for videos/photos.
The rebooting problem is not there (yet). I've played with it a lot and it has not rebooted a single time. This is looking alright so far.
Also, the network is there, not dropping like before. The other phone was a constant yo-yo with the signal. This new one is good, always keeping it. I have it set on GSM rather than on dual mode (to save power, mainly).
The sound output is ok too. Music through the speakers is great, but the voice speaker is not as loud as i'd wanted it to be. It certainly is better than the 6233 I sent back, but nowhere near my old nokia 1101. Still, I've had calls while on the road and could hear ok, however the volume is set at 10
Everything else is cool so far. The only thing I would like to see improved is the volume of voice calls - needs adjusting Nokia! come on, get it done!!.
Anyway guys, this is it. The phone is certainly better, and i reckon that if the new firmware fixes its little issues, than we have a winner.
To people askig about lenght of video recording - this depends on where you save the file to. If you choose the mem card, then it takes whatever the mem card allows you to. Certainly more than 5 minutes. My phone has a 1gb card, I used up about 700mb, and I stil can record 15mins 22secs at top quality setting. So there you are.

                        Hey Reggie,
The band around the phone is steel. My other nokia 6233, which got dropped 3 times, once in hard concrete, did not display any signs of plastic damage, just a small dent. Obviously I cannot prove it, but maybe nokia invented a super power steel like plastic? (just kidding)

                        Hey Carl,
It is best to contact your service provider - It normally is a network problem - the phone recognises it easily.

hey, i am also a 6233 owner, correct me if i'm wrong but the steel frame is not actually made from metal i think its plastic as well. just made to look like metal after time if u ever drop it (lets hope we all don;t) or scratch it will reveal the plastiness.

I need help...My 6233, after just a month stopped showing the caller ID in both calls and messages. Once in a while it shows, but most of the time no. Do I need to upgrade the software? Mine in V3.70, and how to do it? Otherwise its a fine handset!

I have this phone for 2 weeks (after 6111) and I love it. Battery last 3-4 days (depend on using it) and it works without any problem.

I don't know if somebody already wrote about it but anyway:
                                        1. If your SMS late, meaning you receive it at 12.00h and in message details is other data, than set your TIME ZONE as GMT and set your clock on normal time as it is in that moment. Further, no more late
                                        2. I discovered CUT/COPY-PASTE function in sms. So if you like to copy part of one message and paste it into new one - you can do it easily (in options mark text, copy, than go to new one and paste it).
                                        3. You should insert your mmcard inmediately after starting phone, because more extras are on it, not in phone memory.
4.I trasnfered a lot of data through bluetooth, it works genial. And PC suite, which came in box is very simple and nice (I had certain problems with my earliers nokias and pc suite, now don't have).

Hope I could help you a little bit. Regards!
