    hello,
i just purchased the N6260. In compliance with that, i got myself the DKU-2 cable too. But i encountered some problems.

First, there seems to be no recognition of my phone's presence in the pc suite. Ok, there may be this message bubble that pops saying they detect a N6260. However, under the connection manager, there seems to be not any option for USB. All the options are merely these two - serial and infrared, which i'm not interested in. This is after i installed the cable drivers before the suite itself. ( The phone's display, upon connection, shows a USB logo)

Therefore, my question are, are there any other ways to transfer data to and fro the phone from the PC using the DKU-2 cable besides through the PC suite? i just don't seem to get these two to work. Please advice. Thank You.

Men, the fone's aight, but with the MP3 player, theres a fuzzy sound in the background even with high encoding (128kps). Except that and the fact that if u are doing anything worthwhile on the fone u got to use 2 hands, the fone's sure worth the paper

LOY, personally, i'd go for AP set ONLY if its a nokia mobile. cause from my understanding, ap sets for nokia in malaysia is actually quite stable in terms of software and warranties. brands like sony ericsson, i'd go for original t-choice warranty. because ap sets for sony ericsson phones are rubbish. my k500i broke down in less than 2 weeks, and now i'm using 6260 ap set. yes, you get 1 year warranty for your ap set too. but, zitron sets, you can send it to any nokia outlets, for ap sets, you have to send it back to the shop where you purchased, or you have to send directly to the manufacturer. but so far, i have yet to experience any problem with nokia ap sets.

WEILER, i am not too sure, but my set comes only in english and two versions of mandarin.
i think you'll need software to run on spanish

MAKAN, i'd go for 6260 fuction wise. 6230
doesn't even run on Symbian OS. and the price
definately isn't worth it. fyi, the camera
quality for 6230 isn't very good either.
big screens, smart phones, rich in function,
          thats what i called a mobile. i don't give
much attention to stylish or whatsoever.
voice memo is recording your voice as memo.
          not answering machines. answering machines
          is network dependant.

Any one can help me to select one?
What is voice memo!? can record voice or can act like Answering Machine?
which of the nokia phones have Answering Machine?

hm, i don't know why a lot of people are comparing 6170 and 6260. these two models run on totally different OS, 6260 runs on series60 while 6170 runs on series40, and different user interface. naturally, 6260 runs on rs-mmc, while 6170 runs only 2.2mb of internal memory. i think 6260 should be well better compared with 6670. these two phones are almost similar feture wise, except that 6260 has radio, and 6670 boasts a 1megapixel camera for compensation of the radio. actually took me awhile to consider before i bought my 6260, figured that it wouldn't be worth to pay the extra just for the megapixel. might as well get a real digi cam. however, if you are to consider between 6260 and 6170, its easy. if you are looking for features like bluetooth, software downloads, mp3, mmc, and so on, take 6260. if you're looking for outlooks of a phone, like smaller, classier or ease of use, take 6170. no point taking treo 600. why would you wanna buy a CSTN 4096 color phone? and its only 144mhz processor. the phone is practically funtionless and its not very good looks-wise either. if you're to buy a good pda phone or pocket pc, do not save the extra money and get a cheaper one. pda phones and pocket pcs are meant to use for a long period of time and are expected to be reliable, therefore, get a really good one even though its costly, that is if you really want a pda phone. if not, a smartphone would do. for pda phones or pocket pcs, i'd recommend hp ipaq6365, definately worth its price. how many wi-fi enabled pocket pcs can you find with this price? and it is definately reliable, will serve you good for a long time to come. cheers. =)

hi andy, actually this phone is almost there.. i dun mind not having the LCD display outside as long as we have some indication that there has been a missed call or unread msg.. sure dun wan to keep opening and closing it to check! i would have tot programming the green LED light outside is easy and nokia shld have tot of that..

anyway, i'm now considering between 6260, 6170 and treo600 for my next buy..

andy214, yes, the price difference for nokia 6260 is indeed approximately rm300 in difference, give or take. the zitron set is priced at rm1350, and ap is selling at rm1100 or slightly less. in some places, the black model is being sold slightly more expensive, because with every 10 sets that comes, only 1 of them is in black. took me actually a few days to find a black one with the right price. anyway, would like to ask, is there any camera softwares available for this phone? i heard it is not possible, is it true? thanks

Better the Zitron ones. Warranty for all parts. Got mine at Starhill for just RM1370. U just got to find the right stall n U gotta have the 'bargain' skill. that's all.

                          loy,

Careful when buying AP models, I heard many complains that their 6260 is faulty, buggy, this and that and blames the phone instead actually the model they get is having problem..

Anyway, are you sure AP and Zitron difference of RM300??? Usually, the difference should be around RM100 or a little more only... Perhaps you should browse around other shop for cheaper Zitron price...

And oh, by the way, getting a ZITRON model entitles you to get ONE YEAR free service and update firmware at Nokia Profesional Centre... AP, you have to pay RM60 each upgrade...

                            Shanz,

Well,... nothing's perfect... But no doubt that this phone is ALMOST perfect... (not considering one's taste of course as one may not like the look etc...). Based on features and size and other factors, it has almost everything, just lack of some features that might be important for some users, such as, front LCD (which is especially important for usual flip phones users). But then again, I wouldn't know how if the phone will be slightly thicker if they include a front LCD display...

Anyway, as mention before, I believe the biggest drawback is the speaker quality... and camera quality (but camera quality might affect the price heavily)...

Yup, you're right. The phone is impressive but lacks some minor features, but a bit important to some users.

Im actually planning to buy a second flip phone that has an external display. Its really helpful when you can see your phone status without opening the flip you know =)

                                ciao!

hi. i'm from malaysia. i've been using the 6260 for almost a week. i think overall, this phone is definately above average, considering the price factor, as it is relatively cheap. however, i do find that the hinge gets loose very fast, after 3 days of use. my phone actually jerks left and right now when it is closed. and the fact that i've been handling it with extra care. and one more thing, i think the audio for realplayer is too loud, even when i set it to the lowest volume, it is still too loud. do you guys experience the same problem? i bought the black one anyway, and it is gorgeous =)

                                        Gary,

6170 = normal phone, with some extra features. EXPENSIVE!

6260 = SMARTPhone, A LOT OF FEATURES. CHEAP OR VERY WORTH!

Correction to your fact, 6170 is NOT less features compared to 6260, there' a very big difference in terms of features. 6260 is almost like having a Pocket PC + Phone.
