you'll usually get the virus if your bluetooth is on. make sure you have this turned off when not in use (can save battery life) especially in public places.

symbian virus usually finds units that has bluetooth turned on and will send itself to that phone. not unless you transferred a file in your 6600 that already contains the virus itself.

it has no external display so you cant see who's calling. though if you're concern on checking first who's calling before answering or rejecting the call there's an option on this phone that even if you fully open the flip will not answer the call. it will show you on the screen who's calling and you can either press the "green" answer key or the "red" reject key on the keypad.

it can set polyphonic tones, Truetones and MP3 tones as your ring or message alert.

"No gateway reply" usually can be network dependent. i do get that error message as well and when i call my network provider, they admitedly say they're having problem with their GPRS, or the page you're trying to open might be experiencing problem or doesnt exist. if its been days or weeks that you're having that problem, try to call your network provider or better yet, visit their shop to doublecheck if your GPRS settings are correct.

        ANSWER ME THIS 6260 OWNERS...

Can you not see who the caller is if you flip the phone (when clam closed) to the screen side in view??

Does that then not show you who is calling?? Getting mine on Monday, looking forward to it. Also, does the phone not have polyphonic ringtones then if the output speaker is MONO???

Thanks Steve (2nd time of asking!)

          my Own Q's Answer :
I asked how we should reject a call in 6260,according to that it has no display on outside!
Answer : when you open your phone there are two degrees which phone stands. the firt angle which is 90 would not connect so you may check the number and reject it! also thanks to nokia , which answered me in an another way . . .

Symbian phones are now very dangerous to buy...several viruses are now spreading and symbian phones are the easy ones to be infected like my 6600 nokia it's a now a piece of crap after being infected by a virus..it eats all the programs!!!

To Sasi - You can disable the auto reply call function. Go to SETTINGS,then CALL SETTINGS,scroll down till the bottom and disable ANS. BY OPENING FOLD.

                      Hi!
as you know 6260 has no secondry display, so when your phone rings and it is folded, you will not be able to know who is it! is it possible to reject a call , seeing the caller's number so you should open the phone, but that way it connect, how i should reject calls?

                        This phone is normal.
But it's NOT suitable for LADIES!!! It's too big for them!!!
I don't recomend to buy it for your Lady. I think it would be better to buy the smaller one.. maby 6170 or other.

                          helena,

Which model of samsung you bought?

LoL, most samsung phone isn't a SMARTphone at all, just a very NORMAL phone with CAMERA, that's all... is it worth paying so much just for the camera?

Anyway, it's still up to you, it's your choice...

                            Sepehr,

                            1. Lack Of Display.
Well, it depends on you, it might be IF you're USED to using FLIP phones where you always see the front LCD for calls, ETC... Anyway, you still can SEE before you answer, by setting the FLIP ANSWER to NO (in settings).

                            2. Noise? LoL, it's not a problem, it's a GOOD FEATURE. Obviously the review didn't compare with other Nokia Symbian phones, which is... AWFULLY LOW, can't HEAR a thing in the CROWD, but this phone 6260, it's marvellous! LOUDER than my Motorola MPX! Only problem is that it's MONO...

                            3. It's especially suitable for LADIES! Also for Profesionals... This phone require special care, as it's very fragile...

                            4. As for the battery, it's not really an issue as it's battery saving is better than 6600 and with it's reduced MMC, it's saves even more power... Anyway, as mention before, my friend's average usage is around 3 days (with usage)

samsung has the most boring features among all the phones. Don't waste your money buying a samsung phone just because of it's camera. It sucks! No FM radio and no symbian programme in samsung phones, unlike 6260. Whoever had changed his 6260 to a samsung phone is a real silly person. You will find it even more boring viewing the same features inside the samsung phone everytime. Get a grip!

Sorry Guys I forgot my last question:
1-It looks that battery life is some kind of disaster. Is it true or is it just me?

                                    Hello,
In the middle of the review, the author says about the problem with lack of second external display, and a little strong noise of frequences from the earphone.Comparing this phone with 6170, this one offers me more & I think I'm gonna buy it as a gift for a lady. All I want to know is:
1-is The lack of external display really bothering? is it a problem to get known about missed calls or incoming messages in the normal mode?(closed)
2-Is the described noise problem serious?
                                    3-Is it suitable for ladies?

                                        samiedz,

N3230 is a newer version phone, and it's more powerful than N6260, N7610, N6600, etc... It have 1.3MP camera, can match with N6630, how to compare?

If you like N3230, then go for it, but I believe the price will be about the same as 6630... If you can afford it, why not go for 6681? Dual Camera and WAY WAY much more powerful...
