Hi steve =)

I think thats a good choice. If you've noticed with my comment, its only the D500 that I have positive feedback (hehehe).

I was planning to get one too as my second phone. I didnt had a chance to try it for at least one whole day or two. tell me if its nice aight?

ciao!

Owen, thanks for your comments dude.

I am from England, UK. So phones maybe a little different where you are. I have decided on the D500, it is on order, and should get it by the weekend.

I love my nokia phone (none symbian), but I have jumped ship and gone for arguably the phone of the year!?!

    Cheers Steve

Thanks Owen. I tried with a 512Mb RS-MMC. He recognized the 512Mb but after that didn't work. I tried to format but nothing. So, now i will try another card but smaller (256mb). After i'll tell you the news.

              Yo Steve =)

I dont like Nokia 6170. I've tried the phone myself. Interface and LCD clarity is not good.

Samsung E330 looks boring to me.

On the other hand, I've tried the Samsung D500 and it looks decent. My personal favorite is the slide smoothness. I've tried Siemen's similar slide phone and I hate the way it slides. D500 kinda locks in to place when you slide it open and close (without any clicking sound). The black color of the unit is very nice too. It has 128 internal memory, though not expandable and that's what is so disappointing. I havent had any Samsung phone yet and they say it's not a good mobile phone.

With the E800, I haven't tried it personally but looks similar to D500.

Now these are just my personal opinion with regard to all these phones. We have our own taste and needs when it comes to something.

You might want to go to a mobile phone arcade and try those phones personally to see which one will work best for you.

                Hello Bluege =)

6260 uses the typical (or first version) RS-MMC.
The dual-voltage (DV) RS-MMC is for Nokia 6630.

                  Ey Daniel =)

unfortunately, you CANT turn off the click sound (i think). I've went to every option of the phone (and even selected SILENT mode) and no way to turn it off.
I hate it as well but cant do anything about it.

im not sure if I'm missing a spot on the phone settings to turn it off but as far as I can tell, NO WAY to turn it off... =(

                    Hi Jonathan =)

you CANT turn the screen clockwise to go to browse mode. you can only turn it clockwise to take self-picture and that's it.

it's designed to turn it counter-clockwise to make it in browse mode.

                    sad huh?

Had a 6260 delivered as upgrade from o2.

Kept it 24 hours and sent it back. Its just too BIG! Functions are good, and has loads to play with but.....

Considering what other phones are out there, it just opens out to be a right monster when using it. Shame really, I wanted it to work out, but not to be. Also the navigator buttons at the top are far too fiddly. I only have small hands, but still found it tricky to use. Sorry cannot recommend this in anyway. 3/10 at best.

Trouble is, what do I go for now?? D500? 6170? E800? E330??? HELP!

I'm for several weeks to know what kind of MMC card the Nokia 6260 uses. For sure it does't use the normal MCC (bigger). My doubt is if it works with the RS-MMC (reduced size) or only with the RS-DV-MMC (dual voltage).
                        Thanks in advance.

It uses RS MMC cards, somebody sais that the phone has many errors, I didn't try it, but somebody sais that with such a players as Real One NOKIA 6260 plays only MONO sound and has other errors, that shouldnt be

                                  Andy214,
I gess you are right that there is no such feature in 6260 but I quite sure that I saw an application for Symbian that does exactly that. Makes the SMSes (that includes bluetooth reciving files, too) to be automaticly save in the MMC card. I am not sure what its name was but I'll understand and send it to you if you give mi you e-mail.

                                    Thim and Owen,

There're no such features to "Memory Card" in messaging in 6260,...

This is because this phone is like the N-Gage, where both these phone have dedicated memor for contacts and SMS (which is 3.5MB for 6260)... So, Nokia THOUGH user doesn't require the features, I guess, so they removed it...

Perhaps we could post a request to make it available on the new firmware? Is there a request page? Or something like that? Maybe not, as all sorts of wierd request will be posted, LoL...

But I would hope to request for a 6260"i", with at least 1 megapixel cam... Stereo speakers, and a better soundcard/chip...

Lastly,... THIM, even for 6600 or 7610, you might not be able to recieve MP3 via infrared unless the MP3 size is small... because these phones internal memory is small...

                                    THE BEST way is to,
                                    1. go to FILE MANAGER,
                                    2. then go to your MMC Card,
                                    3. then OPTIONS->RECIEVE VIA INFRARED

Yes... only INFRARED at the moment, don't know why... But this way is the easiest and best way because it cna recieve very big file and it's stored in your MMC, not in your SMS, which you need to transfer, etc...

Symbian phone have virus so don't buy symbian phones? LoL, what kind of theory is that?

So, pocket pc have virus, don't buy them...

Microsoft Windows as well as other OS, also got virus, so don't buy them, or just don't buy a PC!

                                      Farnee ain't it?

The list can go on and even worst... if you like to stay with your OLD technology phone, then stay, otherwise, move on...

                                        Thim

I've been looking for that option too.
because with my previous Series60 Nokia phones, there's an option in Messaging to use "Memory Card" as the memory instead of "Phone Memory".

Im not sure if Nokia forgot to put this option or its hiddent somewhere. but I've been everywhere the phone's options and I can't find it.
