Hey Wonder i don't know what your talkin about that FIRMWARE update.. I always did my FIRMWARE UPDATE for the phones by myself.. and yeah i don't have to pay. its part of your support for NOKIA.. i mean its not your fault that the FIRMWARE you have.. have so many glitches.. so that's your support for downoading the latest FIRMWARE update for your phone..

and yeah i have the opposite problem.. I can't get rid of my Voicemail Indicator..

I just bought this phone 2 days ago, and this is something I want to share!

Good:
Screen is so beautiful - Colors, contrast, brightness, cripness, like a real Sony Lcd

Sound is fantastic, you can hear the sound running from left to right, right to left

The signal I think it's better than the K750i I have!

Speed is alot faster than any Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones I have used!

BAD:
Contact picture is so bad. It only let you set a low quality and small size picture, and that lead to ugly color picture when you got a call from that person. If you try to set a picture 640*480, it says unable to attach. And when it appear, it appear very little at the middle right of the screen, and color is terrible like a painting.

Setting: I search on nokiausa.com and found some setting for this phone (Yes, I said for this phone) to use with Tmobile, Cingular, At&t formal customers... When nokia send out the setting by text messaging, the phone display: Unable to save setting!

Voicemail: I tried so many times, I recorded a voicemail into my mailbox, and the phone NEVER display any icon or a message say that I receive voice mail. This is suck! So if you want to know whether you have voicemail or not, you have to call your voicemail several times a day. I looked in the manual, and there is no icon for voicemail.

Battery life is worst! Charged my phone over 10 hours, after 40 mins talk, 10 mins music, i got 1/3 left

Worst of all, you cannot upgrade firmware by yourself through your computer. You have PAY to get upgrade and you have to bring it to a store.

I think I'm gonna sell this 6270 and get a W900i.

No Fadodz the 6270 is not a Series 60 phone, Its a New UI upgraded Series 40.. So its not a Symbian OS.. Well Nokia softwares comes in platforms the Series 40 which their regular running OS, Series 60 Symbian OS which what nokia calls their smartphones.. and the last one is the Series 80 its mix with both actually Java and Symbian.. well you don't have to worry about that. Why are you getting yourself a Communicator as well? Well basically that's the OS of the Nokia Communicators..

Ok lets get down to business

Well the main dis-advantage of the Series 40 phones are you have very limited source of apps to download, but the advantage is much faster than any OS nokia has..

In Series 60 this is why Nokia calls this platform a Smartphone.. well YES its running under an improved Symbian OS.. Its basically like a computer there are tons of softwares or apps out there for you to download for these phones. (eg.. anti-virus, YM, remote conrol, mp3 player etc) too many to mantion.. trust me there are lots. the main dis-advantage is like a computer it freezes when you go on a certain phase of speed. so basically the Symbian OS is much slower than the Series 40 OS..

to gwapz: my 512MB card is still half in capacity and yes i has 149 images in succession (images001, images002 & so on). You can try it if it will appear in your side. :)..

thanx gwapz... anyway... 1 more thing... is it "not have" symbian opr. system is the main dis-adv? why is it important to have a symbian os in the phone.what is the adv for a phone to have a symbian os? anyone plzzzz...

hey tomtacks.. hmmmnnn really.. didn't know about that.. that's a maybe to me. did you try checking your card if their really in there.. does 149 photos? or maybe your card is full.. i mean what did you store in the 512? that too you know..

Did you happened to observed/noticed this? Am i only experiencing this one? Here it is, When taking pictures and not deleting it until it reaches images149.jpg, the next image cannot be saved anymore. The phone says "unable to save file". How come i guess they are limiting to only 149 pics to be saved then transfer it to your computer. By the way, im using the 512MB as the folder to be saved. :)

hey wafu!! don't hope.. GREENHILLS PARE!! d best place to look for those.. and YESS their gonna have it.. no shout of a doubt.. anything you need is possible in the philippines.. i remember i sent a dual band american phone once in the philippines.. they made it to work! that's nuts!! i saw a friend of mine who has a 3650 that has mp3 files.. 3650 don't support mp3.. these people in the philippines really amazed me.. they can do everything. nothing is imposible.. ever think of changing your imei? it can happen.. 7650 tri band? it can happen..

Unbelievable people!!

I wonder what they can do for my 6270.. when i go there on march.. im gonna put some neat apps..

i agree with jo... same here jo!

anyway, bout the pic in contacts, yeah, hope it's much larger... but the good thing is, in my recent phone, i had my phone installed a software that lets me put on a large photo on my contacts, and whenever they call, their photo shows... almost occupying the screen of my phone.. well, i hope a software like that wiil be released for our phone......

I have a question, when I want to add picture to a contact, lot of the time, it says "unable to attach file" Anyone knows why is that? Also why is the picture so small (right edge) when somebody calling you?

This is for Mario.. well i have a Cingular service with this phone.. but i haven't set up the WAP/MMS settings yet.. and i can't find any reason why it shouldn't send MMS.. YESS you can send pictures.. but i don't think internationally.. they haven't developed that yet.

I will let you know again once i set it. So it would be a proven fact!

This is for Rmort.. well you do know before AT&T colapsed they switch to GSM right? they were using 1900mhz which Cingular was using both 1900 and their new developed 850mhz.. So on Cingular TDMA or CDMA don't exist no more. because when they bought it, it was already GSM.. so i don't think that's the reason..

Well i did some signal test.. i have a 3120 that's tri band 1900/900/1800mhz i used it with Cingular SIM i barely have Signal on my phone i have at least 2 bar of signal. that't it.. but when i got this 6270 i get full signal everywhere.. because its using both 1900 and 850..

My Conclusion is that.. CINGULAR still uses their old towers that's running 1900 and AT&T's also.. but they focus on this 850.. that is why i get alotof signal..

But on cola's case.. i think is the software of the phone not communicating with the service provider.. same as mine i have a glitch right now..

This is responding to Cola. I think the issue of your ATT sim card not working on all features but the friend's Cingular sim working fine may be that the ATT service side of Cingular is NOT GSM. It is only the Cingular service side that has GSM. Perhaps the features that are not working with the ATT card are the specifically GSM features.

can someone tell me if they have this phone sending pictures from cingular carrier in the usa?
I've been waiting for this phone but do not want to buy until i find this information as with my d500 could never send pictures.

this is for cesar! hey the phone is out! and avilable.. if its still not available in your country.. don't expect it to be available same issues in singapore.. buy it from ither country.. cheap internet prices... no scam! legit!! or EBAY!!

Well dis-advantage for me is the glitches im experiencing right now. well i can't really complain these are one of the 1st nokia 6270 that came out.. so i was expecting that..
and alot of people didn't appreciate the solidness of the 1st wave.. but it has changed.. the 2nd wave are good!

i guess that's all. i will add more if i see more..

This is for Jack.. Did you know does were my 2 choice as well before purchasing this phone.. well you know who came out to be the winner.. as for me 6270 is the winner.

Well to brake it down for you

6270: Series 40 Java Platform
N70: Series 60 Symbian OS

Well if we are gonna talk about solid wise and construct designs. the 1st week 6270 came out a little bit weak.. alot of people complaint about its not solidness. But not to worry the 2nd wave 6270 appeared to be solid and nice.. people say!

Well if were gonna talk about features wise or specs 6270 is pwerfull than the N70.. that's how i came down to my decision of puchasing it. and yeah N70 is a little bit more expensive than the 6270..

Let me break down the feature comparisson to you..

Card Slots:
6270: miniSD = easy to find
N70: RS DV MMC = where can i find this in US?

Frequency
6270: Quadband
N70: Tri band/UMTS 3G Support
that depends. if your in US there is no need for the camera in the front. 3G is not available here yet.

Connectivity
6270: bluetooth, infrared, cable sync
N70: Bluetooth, cable sync

Sound
6270: 2 speakers 3D speaker sound
N70: regular nokia 1 speaker

I guess that's all.. Just figure it out there.. I CHOSE THE FEATURES WISE!!
