@ Original_Jamaican

Well i read that KRZR K1 easily breaks the front design

and the UI is soooooo old that's the only problem well i'll try to COMPARE them well so hard

I just like the only tthing about the KRZR is the DESIGN

    Don't be c0nfused. A single l0udspeaker(which the 6300 have) obvi0usly can't do stere0.

sometime back i owned 5310 (blue colour) and following are my comments.
5310 is equal or little better than 6300. First of all it doesnt get hot while talking, battery life is good atleast 2 days for a heavy user, sound quality from the built in speaker is firt rate though not very loud but sounds very natural & slim light weight make it very comfortable in your pocket. only minus side is it's cam which is very pathetic worse than 6300. hopefully any new software that may come in future should improve the camera quality.

any one there can tell me someyhing 'bout this????:
          - My operator provides internet conexion with in my cell(gprs)I am in costa rica...I use a 6300 to connect my computer to the web sometimes...the conection speed is 460.8 kbps.....

-Recently my father bought this SE k550 and we installed SE pc suite...my surprise was that when using my SIM card on that SE and connecting the computer to the web the conection speed is 10 mbps!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me why??? Has somebody there experienced something at least similar to this??

            To Rony:
your comparison looks very objective, I'd really like to read more like them about the rest of devices we can usually see on sites like this...coincidentally I like both phones you compared and I almost sell my 6300 for a 5310 just based on 4gb sd support of 5310...I'll think it twice now...but can you tell me if 6300 can support 2gb hdsd micro memory cards??? Or higher capabilities??? Im also planning to get a BL-4C battery lo enlarge its battery life...dou you think that might be wise???

              Original_Jamaican:

I'm sorry, I may have been wrong when I said the 6300's loudspeaker is mono, since it has just one loudspeaker so I assumed it was mono. I thought a phone should be classified as having stereo loudspeakers if it has two separate loudspeakers for the left and right channels, which is the case for the 5310 as well as the 6233.

              I'm a bit confused now.

I've been using this handset for a while now and its doing really great. The only thing irritates me about this is its battery life. I have to recharge it almost everyday. Is there anything that i can do increase its battery life or the set is born with this flaw?

                        To RONY:

I re-read your comparison and it is indeed a good one.

As you can see the 6300 has an overall edge over the 5310. One of the main reason being the 6300 is in a higer class...6 series opposed to 5 series.

Based on what you said about the 5310 camera being slow is true. I read GSMArena's review and they too said the camera is very slow. You said the 6300's camera is twice as fast...that alone makes the 6300 the better choice for me as I'm into imaging a lot so speed is key for me.

With the 5310 being a music phone I would expect louder speakers in general so I am surprised to hear you say the 6300's loudspeaker is louder than 5310.

Now, with the 5310 being a music phone then naturally the battery life would be longer...and it is, by almost 2 hours.

Rony, I need to corret you on one thing, the 6300's speaker is stereo and I didn't need forum.nokia.com to tell me that. You can go there and check the really technical specs. for any Nokia phone.

I like the really sturdy and metallic feel of the 6300 so 5310 being 100% plastic would feel like a downgrade for me.

For anybody who wants more internal memory and longer battery life then they should consider the 5310.

I will re-post my comparison on 5310 and 6300 for you, Tarek.

                          ON LOOKS AND GENERAL FEEL:
-I personally find the 5310 to be more stylish, trendy, sexy. The 6300 is rather classy, discrete, and professional looking.
-When compared side-by-side the 5310 definitely looks smaller.
-The 5310 feels VERY fragile since most parts are made of plastic. There are also a lot of holes or gaps where dust can easily enter and accumulate especially on the screen. The 6300 gives a more sturdy feel because of its stainless steel finish. It's very solid with no gaps and when handling it doesn't produce crackling noise.

                          ON LCD
                          -The 6300's screen is brighter.
-The 6300's LCD is protected by a glass screen while the 5310 is covered by plastic(?).

                          ON SOUND
-The 6300's loudspeaker is louder. However, the 5310 produces richer, "true" stereo sound. The 6300's loudspeaker is just mono.
-When listening to music through the headphones, I couldn't tell the difference between the two phones.
-The 5310's side volume keys sometimes wouldn't work. Restarting the phone would fix it.

                          ON CAMERA
-The 6300's camera "seems" better. Pictures appear sharper and colors are more balanced. I am not sure if this is because the 6300 has a better camera or a better LCD or both.
                          -5310 has NO "Night Mode".
-Panning and scanning with the 6300's camera is smoother, so videos should look smoother too.
-Snapshots take twice as long for the 5310 to be processed compared to the 6300. This probably means the 6300 has a faster CPU(?).

                          ON MULTIMEDIA
-The 5310's video player has no Rewind/Fast Forward function like in the 6300.

                          OTHERS
-A nice feature on the 5310 is the ambient light detector which automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen and switches on/off the keypad light to conserve battery.
-The 6300 has so-called reminder lights on the sides which discreetly alerts you every now and then if you have an unread message or unanswered call.

Considering all these I would say the 5310 is for the hip and trendy who are after looks and loves music a lot. For everything else, I think the 6300 is a better choice (although I might be biased).

                              heya all

just like to share this piece of goodie information with everyone

after extensive searching thru the web on (took me like 3 days)

HOW FREE UP MEMORY on the 6300...

as it only comes with 7.8MB and almost half is taken up by appz, tones, and themes skin... so you're left with about 4MB FREE mem.

and when you try to delete it
it wont allow you to delete because its supposedly READ ONLY FILE SYSTEM.

there is this JAR appz called: MOBY EXPLORER

which allows to remove/delete MOST files.. ^_^
very useful... you'll also need to set in the application setting to allow the program to access the files.

its a demo.. with naggin 10sec screen but if u can bare with it like i did.. its worth it.

I managed to end up with 7MB FREE memory.
as I removed stuffs that I don't need.

^_^ this 7MB FREE could be used for possibly (almost unlimited) SMS storage yet to test it.

hope its useful for some who been searchin in vain to free up their 6300 internal memory

                              ^_^

i thought nokia has solved heating problem on their 6300/ 2008 year series. because i used only in the begining of 2007 during when they had just launched and i used it in india as well as in bahrain the country where i am presently working had this getting hot problem. i sold it to my collegue who still has but not using and when checked with him his complaint is also same the phone get hot in just under 2-3 min of starting conversation. in this case winura is right with his comment. i will check with other users and post my comment in due course. at the moment i am not very sure whether this is happening only with some defective sets.
