original jamican lys alot 6300 is not a gud fone i have 1 too he doesnt tell u the disadvantages the disadvanteges r bad battery life no infrared port if u trasfer things into memory card the memory card logo dissapears if u talk for 2 mins on thje fone it gets hot and it starts making ur ear warm and isnt so good voume better than this is w810i

to ORIGINAL JAMAICAN, yes i have that problem on my phone to, but that feature isnt important to, the main fact is after downloading v5.00 firmware it rectifies most glitches the old firmware had n im not joking, battery life has drastically improved n also the performance of the phone is much better, im very happy with my HUNGARIAN model its now excellent in every area, take care matey :-)

I'm surprised to know that you only get an hour out of your phone. I get a lot of talk time out of mines. Yesterday morning I charged it and left for work on a full charge. I was on repetitive calls throughout the day - some calls were 5 mins., 10 mins, at one point 45 mins. and last night 1hr. 2mins. and I still have a little less that half charge. I honestly can't complain.
What version firmware do you have ?

To EVERYONE:
Once you have NOKIA 6300 with firmware revision version 5.00 your phone will make you happy. It handles MPEG 4 and H.264 videos quite nicely and battery life is excellent also.

To WAZOMBA:
Mine was made in Hungary as well. It was purchased late August so it came with firmware v5.00.
Some people say that when they upgrade to v5.00 from 4.71 they experience a glitch where holding down the # sign key doesn't give you the silent feature again. Do you have that problem too ?

to ABDULLAH to get v.5.00 it is best to download it via the phone, go to settings scroll to PHONE select that then scroll
to PHONE UPDATES u will see to options CURRENT PHONE SOFTWARE and DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE select download software n it will connect u to nokia n shud give u v.5.00 it b as an application n u need to install it just follow the instructions n u shud b ok.

hey evry1 i'd just bought my nokia 6300 last week and i was very satisfied at first by its superb screen and its sound.
it's very very good and clear.
But the performance of the battery is not too good expecially when receiving a call , the battery only last max. 1 hour and it makes me hv to charge it while making/receiving a phone call all d time
and yes it does sucks
You can solve the problem by buying a secondary battery and i believe it will helps a lot as nokia 6300 take around 2-3 hours to be fully charged
It's rather annoying as well..
Beside the battery life , i'm very satisfied w/ thiz fone .
The keypad is good , the design of the fone is great.
I'll bet thiz fone will still available for the next 2 years cuz it will never get old fashioned by its slimness and its design'

im quite positive its supports 4GB or more micro sd card coz in the manual it doesnt state a maximum of how much ìt can goe upto, hope this is of some help.

right just found my nokia 3.5mm audio headphone adapter n by using proper earphones/headphones im even more amazed by the sound quality n it beats the sound of my se w800 hands down, my 6300 is what ill b listening to my mp3/wma tracks on its great, i think the se walkman phone series has a rival n its the budget nokia 6300 :-)

the audio output of the phone n gives a sound boost, n believe it does work, the sound through the headset is on par with my se w800 when u use the editable equalizer with the 5 bars set to full and also have the STEREO WIDENING feature set to on, im very impressed indeed, but then thats only my opinion

to all 6300 USERS, the sound quality on this phone has impressed me very much even tho it only has 1 speaker its loud n clear, my advice to everybody when listening to music is to use the editable equalizer n set the 5 frequency bars to FULL u will this increases the loudness of the speaker a little with hardly any distortion, also when listening 2 music with the supplied headset make sure STEREO WIDENING is set to ON as this enhances

I am astonished how many people love this phone, although its very simple featurewise, it doesnt have stereo speakers, it plays downloaded vids not too good I ve read in a earlier posting.
Is it only the screen and looks? Love the looks and backlighting, if it only had good speakers and loud ringtone and good vidplayer(not recording dont care bout that)id go for it.
What about 6120 classic, which ones better.

the biggest disadvantage is the battery which unfortunately does not remain as it says in pamplets or other phones... it drains out pretty fast.Battery life is good but it gets heated a lot during long calls.

It has got 2 MP camera but the quality is average.

Neither the headfones nor the speakers are loud enough for noisy enviornments
these r de disadvantages that i hav read abt 6300 and on the other hand ,I don know abt dese features in 6233(except de 4th point as it has gr8 speakers)....so coz of the first three points shud I drop buyin 6300 nd buy 6233??
wat abt de battery,image quality and media player of 6233 compared to 6300?

At last I decided to go for Nokia's 6300 or 6233 thanks to original jamaican
Nokia 6300 has a MiniUSB port which means you can use your digital camera cable, memory card reader cable etc. and use it with the phone...no need for special cables which costs a lot of money...any regular USB cable will work.
I want to know if 6233 has got this feature
