its a grt phne only in terms of picz clarity nd voice clarity,bt the batt backup is pathetic nd ihv selled dis phne within 1 month coz i was so frustated wid its batt nd it had started hangigd alot...

can i perform multiple operations at the same time on 6300
if not can i at least play music and perform other operation like reading text or running a pdf reader

yes the phone has a 2.5mm jack and you can get an adaptor at very little cost to use any 3.5mm headphones .... the quality of music through professional headfones is better than the walkman range . battery is ok for moderate user not a heavy user 2 to 4 hrs of music a day with calls and sms
ps . ( Walkman branding used by sony is just a marketing gimmick , there is no real sound amplification happening in their phones like the n91 or any other dedicated mp3 player )

Nokia6300 &6233 both are wonderful handsets of Nokia,they have almost similar features someone can notice by comparing both models side by side.......

To the user who said it can only play low quality MP4 you are forgetting the HIGHER quality H.264 codec it supports which is also known as HD/Blueray format. I even have high quality 3GP files which looks better than some MP4 files on my Nokia 6230, as high a quality as 512kbps.
The 6233 may be better in some areas, 3G bandwidth etc. BUT the phonebook doesn't allow more than 500 contacts and that's a problem for me. My present phone (6230) has over 500 contacts (about 700) so the 6233 would be of NO USE to me as I wouldn't have been able to transfer all my contacts if I were to get the 6233. Regardless of multimedia features we must all remember that it's still a phone and the telephony areas come first while multimedia comes second...that's why I have been waiting for the 6300.

Went from a W800i SE to this phone, was very disappointed by the quality of the music through the headphones, Sony ericsson is miles ahead, also doing without the walkman functionality is difficult to get used to. Also the picture quality in darker lighting conditions is bad. Battery life is not that good. But on the good side it's a very beautiful phone and the colors are amazing. If you are someone just looking for a pretty phone to make calls and receive messages get this phone, otherwise i'd go for the just as pretty w880i...

just bought a 6300, comparing with 6233 on function, it's worse. It can only play low quality MP4 movie, it's pity for so good screen. For someone wish to hear music, it's just so so, can't match with 6233. This modle, the highlight point are just 16M screen and slim.

Recently got this phone, I dont think battery is that big a problem. Infact the phone is too good in almost all features

its actually quite a good little phone. mind you i would rather have kept my old nokia 6230i.
i do have a few complaints.
-battery life is quite low compared to the nokia 6230i
-usb port is rly hard to access
-supplied head set is how you say...below acceptable quality
-volume during calls w or w/o headset is quite low even at max vol.
-camera photo quality is v.low during low light. goes kind of grainy.
-although not about the actual phone, i'd like to say that nokia has less than acceptable customer service.
other than that some features that i DID like are:
-classy design.
-camera in high light is good quality
-music player is ok
-solid build
-no need to buy expensive nokia branded cable for data transfer
-can use it as a remote in applications such as ms powerpoint
-classy themes/nice GUI
-screen brighter and clearer than the nokia 6230i

overall a pretty good phone, its rly a wysiwyg phone. as in what you see is what you get. a classy phone that does what it says it will do at a resonable price.

value for money. pros: 16.7 million colors, display is amazing, great loudspeaker,
cons: camera flash, usb data cable are not there, auto focus is not available

does e n6300 support acrobat reader s/w to read pdf files??
